Selfishness,
Is it wrong to believe the people you leave behind will think you are Selfish when you CTB ?
Or will your attitude towards them be, f#$% it, I don't really care what "they" want, I want death by any means ?

Is it moral to think that your CTB will not affect others by staying in Motel/Hotel/Airbnb ect. Or just f@#$ it,
I do not care what "they" think either ?

Is there any more questions ya'll can think of, when it comes to the morality of your CTB ?

Enquiring "minds" wanna know ?
As I'm struggling with a group situation CTB'ing.

Any moral quandary's or questions, points of view, would greatly be appreciated by this community.

Of course the wrong thing for people is to think you're selfish. You're (probably) doing it because you can't handle it anymore, I don't see selfishness in that. Doing it in a motel or hotel would seem fine to me as they've got a lot of staff, but Airbnb's are usually just one person renting out their space, wouldn't want to do that to them.

Morality wise the best thing to do is not CTB, but that's not really an option here. From my standpoint it's the least traumatic if people just find you passed out on your own bed / in your own room.

If there's one thing I utterly despise, it's the thought of the people I love finding out I've left. Just imagining them finding the note, which will vaguely guide them into the idea I've ended my life makes me sick, knowing how they'd react to it. The other day, I wrote a text for a mate overseas, not yet released, so he'd know once the day comes, and I felt like an awful person writing it. Suddenly leaving, having left no specific signs beforehand. It's like I'm being exposed for being some sort of fraud, as I'm no longer that witty dumbass who doesn't take shit seriously.

I feel selfish for it, though I just want to take care of myself this one time.

Personally I don't care about how it's going to effect most people cus they are trapping and denying my want and access to ctb. I would care about how it effect other people if they allowed and respected my want to do it but they are not giving me that so fluff them, they can deal with the pain and consequences of my ctb, they don't deserve my respect.

Shading.

Is it wrong to feel? Not in my opinion, its an innate part of being human. Selfish…well is a fox selfish when a rabbit is caught? Or is the rabbit selfish for denying a meal? A firm view with never a waiver from a small point, is shortsighted at best. Too far a view and too much understanding leaves an acceptance of everything. Thinking I would want to see the tree and the forest. Unique to each will be where the line of no return is drawn. Morality is not always a clear pedestal to step up on.

A common phrase for suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Could it be that when others want you to live, they are selfish, they are seeking a temporary solution to a permanent problem? Words are tricky things, have days I think maybe there are dark fairies in words.

Not every choice and action is without suffering. When a garden is weeded sometimes a wanted new sprout is pulled as well as the weed. How much selfless consideration is needed for a person to pass in peace without a single offense given? How many are that considerate, that arent looking for Death's grin? How many people has any one person hurt and never even knew?

If a person is morally responsible for all feelings and interpretations for their choosing of Death, what then of those that live?

Perhaps morality is a bit shaded on the whole and like the stripes on Tigger, we carry our selfishness and our selflessness. Even though feelings will mix and shade together with a suicide, a brutal new step for a loved one, a thankfulness for life from a distant acquaintance, a greater adherence to religion to not fall prey to dark thoughts. Does that turn selfishness to absolution and to a good thing….?

Life is just as shaded as Death and all the choices in between.

I'll say it, CTBing is inherently selfish. But that doesn't mean it's wrong for you to do. Others can say I'm selfish when I die, they can be angry with me. It's well within their right and I would not fault them for it. I was angry, too, once. We have to stop pretending like this isn't a completely selfish act that may be brought on for any number of reasons but is intended to save us at the cost of pain to others. Different side of the same coin, it is also selfish to want someone to stay when they suffer so greatly. There are no black and white morals. I can say with no certainty that it's moral to kill yourself nor that it's moral to continue living.

As far as doing it in a hotel, motel, or airbnb I would say it's wrong due to the impact it will on innocents but also the truth is that someone will be impacted anywhere. If you do it in your home, family may find you and be traumatized and have to pay to clean it up. In a place of business a worker may find you and be traumatized. Airbnbs, small motels, bed and breakfasts are often run by individuals who would have to pay for cleaning service and may lose business. Doing it in the woods or somewhere outside you may traumatize some random passerby. Drowning, your body may wash ashore and traumatize some poor onlooker. Morality is not so easy to define.

Your death will impact someone in some way. It is a selfish endeavor that seeks to end your misery without regard to others. But we can't look at it as a moral question because it isn't one in my opinion. It's a question of humanity.
