Questions about Multiple Methods

Hell SS, I've been with you for a while, and I would like some help.

So, I am calm and relaxed now, and that is why I wish to make this post before the rain comes, so to speak.

I have access to a single shot 38. Special pistol that was passed to be from a friend from Nevada, however it is quite old and I can't guarantee it won't fail, I have only two bullets to try anything with, I plan to use this to euthanise myself a few weeks after I turn 27, anyway as mentioned before I am not sure the pistol will fire and won't explode.

I wish to combine methods to ensure that I die, I was thinking of using a blade to directly stab myself in the stomach or throat a few times and take some combination of prescription medication, but I wish to run it through all of you and ask a few questions.

1. Is this a bad idea?
2. If not what combination of over-the-counter medication could be used?
3. Will I be able to fire the weapon with stab wounds in my stomach?
4. Are there any other methods I could combine?

Survival instinct is what makes me question the self stabbing method - as much as I think of doing something like that I don't know if I could. If I had a gun, I would use that alone as the method. Just shoot and dead. Good luck and safe travels.

Getting stabbed in the stomach is supposed to be one of the most painful ways to go.

Bullets aren't expensive. Can't you take the gun to a range and try it out.......or have an expert inspect it?

Without revealing too much, no I cannot take it to a range. It should in theory work, the barrel is in good nick, but the breach face is a little fucked. I am not FULLY sure it will work, but in theory it should.

I doubt you'll be able to go the duplicate method route. If you somehow manage to overcome ur survival instinct and stab urself, its not likely youll be able to aim a gun in the right spot to kys

im kind of doubtful youd be able to make urself stab yourself in the stomach, much less immediately follow that up with shooting urself in the head in the correct angle to hit where u want. unless u just have monk-like determination and pain tolerance i wouldnt count on that.

prescription pills usually wont kill someone on their own statistically, so if the pistol misfires and ur not critically injured, i dont know if pills would really solve that.

i think there are other pretty obvious combinations i see mentioned here but im not rly comfortable suggesting specific methods

Thank you for responding, I am very worried about a critical misfire and me ending up a vegetable. I understand firearms mechanics enough to know it should work in theory, however in practice I am not sure. I guess I will have to run the gauntlet.

Stabbing yourself would be terribly painful and has almost no chance of killing you.
As for prescription meds, ODs are notoriously unreliable and inefficient, especially with OTC drugs. You can check out this thread for further information.

Suicide by firearm is one of the most foolproof methods. Why on Earth would you couple It with such inefficient methods?

Stabbing/cutting has a ~1% success rate. The arteries are far deeper than you realize and your body will stop you long before you reach them. You'd just end up with a nasty cut and in a hell of a lot of pain.

Stabbing yourself will be pretty difficult. Stabbing your self is one thing but plunging it is a different thing.
Combining full suspension hanging with shooting might work: you point the gun and if it fails, you jump. (Speaking of jumping, it might also work if you can find yourself a tall enough building.)

As others have said- don't stab yourself, bad idea. It'll most likely just make your last minutes more excruciating or even potentially interfere with you shooting yourself. Other combinations, sure. Dunno what specifically but you can probably figure that out yourself. I personally am just gonna shoot myself, no combo
