Discussion Question concerning DMSO

As some of you know, I received today my almost odourless/tasteless DMSO.

It came in a box with foam around it, bottle wasn't touching any sides of the box.

Also, the bottle is made of glass. 8 oz.

But, the thing is, I know some of you want me to taste it to know if it's really tasteless, or not that bad.

But I'm worried it could lose its potency or I don't know what. If I open the bottle, do I risk anything? Will it lose its potency over time? Because I didn't receive the SN yet, also I am not ready yet.

As long as you put the lid back on it, it will be fine.
DMSO takes a long time to lose its potency, you'll be fine. May I ask where you got it from? Can you possibly post a link?

Don't forget a weight to calibrate your scale. But before, you need the scale.. To know what weight the scale is asking for calibration. Personally mine is asking for 100g.

Also as a friend recommended, metoclopramide wouldn't be a bad idea, to make sure you won't fail. I will highly consider purchasing some as well.

Isnit true it's hard to dissolve the sn in dmso, bc if its notndissovled it wont work properly .
Also , no spoon so what will you use to help dissolve ?

When working with DMSO, it's best to work in a warm environment. 70F or higher.

Try using warm water, but no warmer than 80F/27C. That's what Xerxes recommends.

For anyone having trouble dissolving SN in room temperature DMSO, maybe get a bucket of warm/hot water and put the DMSO bottle in the bucket to heat it up to roughly 70-80F (21-27C) while carefully using a thermometer for guidance (no warmer than 80F/27C according to Mistress Death's post on the Sn megathread). According to Xerxes, heating it up helps the SN dissolve.

Storage of DMSO is simple. It can freeze below 48.5F, but just placing it in a steamer or leave it in a dry place can thaw it out easily. Do not microwave. Most DMSO is transported in plastic safe containers, usually 8oz. Industrial applications use metal drums. You can store it in glass jars if you wish and it is recommended that you do. When working with DMSO, it's best to work in a warm environment. 70F or higher.
