It's a very simple question, I asked on the SN megathread but I had no answer.

What kind of drug is Tagamet Cimetidine? is it an antacid or is it another kind of drug? I've seen that many people use it as part of their SN regimen, I don't have access (I guess) to Tagamet, but I'd like to know what kind of medication I could use to replace it.

h2 blocker. help limit acid production in the stomach- whereas antacids neutralize the acid

Ok, I think I get it.

Do you think that I could replace it with prilosec (omeprazole)?

"works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes"
seems okay
it also says that it takes 1-4 days to have full effect tho. pepcid may be a better bet if possible. but rmbr antacids r mainly for reducing discomfort/maybe slightly increasing effectiveness of the SN.. probs dont have to stress if u dont have it.

I plan to get a hotel, to ensure I'm not found. If I have the luck of it working , could there potentially be gasping or other sounds that could be heard outside the room. I thought about turning the TV on…but I know I would find that agitating.

I wouldn't turn on the TV too loud in the hotel because someone might complain and a hotel employee might come into your room. You don´t want to be found and disturbed, right ?
