Hi, hello

I noticed that on some days my ADHD meds have almost no effect on me, especially after taking a break (one of my psychiatrists suggested that I take breaks from the meds from time to time, usually 2-3 day long).

Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'm on 20mg continuous release methylphenidate, I take it in the morning, after breakfast — normally I start to feel it "kick in" after an hour or so, but on the days when it doesn't seem to work, I feel nothing.

I'm starting to get paranoid and think that some of the pills are placebo, idk anymore.

Consult with your physician maybe he can tell ...
Someone told me this a year ago. ...

Tolerance Over time, your body may develop a tolerance to the medication, which can sometimes lead to periods where the effects seem diminished. Taking occasional breaks can help mitigate this, but it sounds like you're already doing that.

That's what I plan on doing, but my next appointment is in 2 months. Doesn't hurt to ask if others had similar experiences.

My psychiatrist had me try methylphenidate, but it did absolutely nothing for my ADHD. Only made me feel like sluggish zombie with a persistently dull headache.

But Vyvanse and dextroamphetamine has worked immensely better for me
