I've spent a total of 4 months in psych wards in the last 2 years and it was never horrible or anything. Absolutely not fun, but I felt safe and like I was where I needed to be. I always went voluntarily, though, but I did get put on suicide watch some of the time.
Honestly, since you are already stuck there, try to enjoy the time off from the world. You'll be living in a bubble and all you need to care and think about is yourself. Food will be served and your basic needs tended to. If you're on 24/7 watch, enjoy making the staff uncomfortable when you go to the loo
Seriously, though, that was the worst part for me. I'm lucky they didn't enter with me, just kept the door ajar and waited outside.
I barely ever talked to the other patients because I have a tendency to take on other people's problems. Try finding a nice nurse and talk a bit, though, it can help. You've got nothing to lose, so might as well open up a bit about why you want to die.
I hope your stay won't be too long. Hugs to you and feel free to PM me if you want to chat
Edit: Oh, and don't let them catch you being on SS!
