On my SN product says you need to wear protective clothes before putting the SN in the glass. Is this true? Does anyone do this?

No. SN is used to cure meats. Small amounts of SN contacting the skin is not an issue. They're probably legally required to write that on the product.

It's because you are not supposed to let it come in to contact with an exposed skin. Try not to spill it and use gloves.

There's no need for that. If you worked with it regularly, in large quantities, it would be a good idea to keep it off your skin, as it can irritate the skin, but in the quantities you will have it doesn't matter. If you accidentally get any on your skin, just wash it off.
