pros and cons with using 2 ropes at the same time, in case one fails?

it would also give more strength .. just imagine 10 rubber bands vs 1.
we've all seen those videos where 500 rubber bands can split a watermelon apart.

but idk if there would be potential cons with it?

What do you mean by fail cause unless the top rope comes undone somehow that second one wouldnt do anything but make it more painful

if its too weak and it breaks during suspension, by the weight of the person

Use the proper load bearing rope and strong anchor point, no problems. No need to over complicate it.

From the failed attempts I've read it's primarily the anchor point that fails or use of improper equipment (belt that snaps, using a cord, etc.). The other primary failure is being discovered in the act.

We as a collective over think this stuff.
