The three doctors were involved in the euthanasia of a 38-year-old patient, Tine Nys, who suffered with mental problems and died in 2010.

Her family took the case to court, arguing that the euthanasia should never have happened, claiming her mental state was not hopeless and treatment was still possible. Nys had struggled with psychiatric problems for years and had attempted suicide several times.
Prolifers suck.

Prolifers should mind their own business. They'll never know how we feel. Hugs

I understand that they are upset with losing a close family member and it certainly can't be easy dealing with grief. I would imagine the patient had already been through numerous types of medications/therapy in order to be accepted for euthanasia. It must have been exhausting to keep trying and trying for nothing to work and to only be stuck in a place of suffering and misery. It's hard to let go of someone you love but when they are suffering with a terrible quality of life, it's kinder to let them go.

I live in a shithole country named Italy. There were many many people taking their own lives during quarantine, two days ago a man hung himself because he feared another lockdown and all I have to read in the news' comments is "selfish act", "he's leaving two children, he could've asked for help", "life is precious I spetn X years with no money and I didn't ctb" god I was so damn furious I hate prolifers

if people truly want to prevent others from committing suicide, then they need to start by addressing the problems that lead people to attempt suicide in the first place. even better, prevent the problems/events.

Yes let's blame suicidal people and call them selfish, and not pay any attention to the reasons why they wanted to die, or the society that possibly pushed them into doing it.
