But life's facts keep them at bay, always with insecurities about the future.

We on the other hand know the truth and strive for salvation. Thus we pray to Death:

Our Holy Death, kind and gentle be your kiss.
When you come to end my life may I be free from any regrets.
Today I pray that you come for me
At the right time in the right way.
