About a week ago I attempted to purchase the PPeH on their website and still haven't been given access. A few days after purchasing they finally charged my credit card, but never contacted me to give access to the book.

From those that have access, how long did it take for them to give access? Do they *actually* decline people? It's hard to tell. I'm also curious about what kind of background they check for people? Does anyone have information on it?

U can get it for free in resources section

I accessed it a few years ago on their site, back then they didn't run any background tests or anything. Not sure about now.

I know, I've read that free version but would like access to their forums, for which you need to be a subscriber of their handbook.

Thank you. Their website says they do run some sort of background and that it takes 24-48 hours for them to give access, though I still haven't been given it.

That is true, and I am under the age of 50. However, they said friends, family and those with illnesses are welcome if they're under the age of 50. It's difficult to verify all of this.

I got the impression that they're just slow, like most volunteer run organisations. I'd wait a few more days and then email and ask.

I bought access to PPEH in August - before I discovered this site - and they charged my card but never gave me access!! I sent several emails but never got a reply. I was very disappointed but I guess in the grand scheme of things of wanting to ctb and doesnt make any difference.

Did you at least get a refund? That's crazy! I would definitely call my credit card company and get it charged back if this happened.
