  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Wow. It's always weird to me when someone famous dies. They have a lot going for them, but I guess they have their reasons

I'm honestly shocked. He was so engaging at cons and always had projects and things going for him. He was my favourite ranger on the show on behind the scenes.

Unfortunately that has nothing to do with mental illness...

Sounds like attempted divorce rape. That's behind an awful lot of suicides, although if usually happens a little later on.

Is it terrible that I'm jealous? I always get emotional when I see people (especially celebrities who seem to have it all) that ctb. And here I am, living my boring existence day in and day out, with SN next to me, but can't man up enough to drink it. I guess it shows that it doesn't really matter who you are or what you have...I've often wondered if I was rich, or successful, or had movie star looks, etc. if anything would be different. Probably not.

Probably not indeed. Mental illness doesn't care if you're gorgeous, rich, smart or whatever. It can help a bit ofcourse, but not in the long run.

I often wonder the same thing... however, if I had all that and still kept my deranged sick brain, none of it would matter. Essentially, I would just have more to lose and ruin in my life.

I read somewhere it was hanging.
Studies show that suicide rates for men during divorce shoot up exponentially, while women stay mostly static. I'm not talking about anecdotal events. Obviously, if a person is hurting enough, it doesn't matter if they are male or female.

This one caught my attention because we are close together in age and life events are similar (I did not have an affair, however). For me, my family is/was my identity. It's why I worked jobs I hated so that I could provide not just for necessities but for things my kids and wife wanted. In my case, my wife left suddenly. I had no idea there were any issues. Imagine if you thought everything was ok, you were living most of your dreams and then one day they just abruptly end after 29 years. I haven't seen or spoken to my son in almost two months. We talked every day.

He's the 2nd Power Ranger who committed suicide, the 1st was the Red Ninja Storm ranger Pua Magasiva about 3 years ago. I have allot of mixed feelings about this. I hated JDF and thought Tommy was a bland ripoff of Jason (the red ranger). I use to like JDF before the internet days where his true colours would show itself. At the same time though I'm obviously pro choice especially when it comes to mental illness and I don't want to rag on a dead man. And I feel bad for his kids becuase despite my feelings towards him, he was a great father.

Like Pua's death people are posting the suicide hotline number (gross) and saying that mental illness sucks etc but fail to actually do something to help make it so that mental illness treatments can actually work or actually reform the mental health system to be about the person and not just pushing drugs on them. And even fewer see that suicide as a rational choice.

This will continue to happen, and that is the sad part.

With the same response, call that number and reach out to someone.

Most guys are not going to have a beer with their buddies and start being emotional, and no guy is going to be emotional with their partner, wife, girlfriend, etc. unless they want to risk that relationship going up in smoke.

So reach out to whom exactly?

Whether celebrities and those in power believe it or not, everyday guys are not permitted to have emotional flaws; others may be able to get away with being emotional.

Almost all guys are taught from birth: no crying, no sad fits, aggression is fine, and if they are asked how they feel, the default answer is "I am fine," or the other response, "I've got everything covered."

Any deviation from the rugged standard is usually met with "man up."

Should a guy, or really anyone, seek professional help, they are stigmatized as defective or dangerous.

There is no amount of exercise or heavy bag work that can soothe someone's bottled-up emotions; almost everyone needs or wants someone with whom they can be vulnerable without being labeled as a cry baby, sissy, punk, or whatever.

The world as a collective has to make not feeling mentally healthy okay. Make it okay to not feel okay.

Stop with the gold standard that seems to be "deal with it" or "suck it up."

My apologies if my thinking is wrong, incoherent, or rambling.
