i want somebodies opinion on this because i'm not sure what to do.
i have a lot of people i talk to online. most keep on touch on social media. i can't message 20+ people saying "hey i'm going to ctb i love you" especially not with SN - they'll get in contact with my family & save me before SN fully kills me.
so i thought about a public note, explaining my decisions & talking about how i love my friends & it isn't their fault. however... i run the risk of even more people contacting the police and "saving" me.

a lot of my friends are out of state so i can't write them notes in person. a lot i don't talk to anymore & will never see the notes i write in person. i also don't want to disappear, have absolutely nobody but close friends/family know i died...i'd rather have people know.

i guess i need advice & to hear others opinions on what i should do.

timed emails maybe? i'm not sure there are timed DMs on facebook/ig/tumblr etc but emails do work

i'm planning a combination of well-timed DMs (4 in the morning, like), real life notes and timed emails

Yeah I really, really don't trust Google, Facebook, or any other social media platform as they have AI and related intelligence (as well as dedicated teams) to sniff out any 'concerning individuals or groups' and then try to send "help" towards said person. It's just too high of a risk to take. Yes I would definitely go via the delayed email route to your recipients, but don't use Gmail (Boomerang) or TimeCave because those services may tip off law enforcement and jeopardize your attempt or any to CTB. Instead, I would suggest LetterMeLater as an delayed email service.

I know some social media sites allow posts to be queued and posted later. Maybe use that function and link to that social media page on your other platforms. Or the 4am notes may also be useful.

thank you ! i don't think im going to do it... but if i did itll be something like "this is the end. goodbye" something short & vague might ~beat the system~
i know SN takes 30 min - 2 hours to work, based on witness reports & stans account, so it's really risky... maybe i'll post something right before passing out?

I'm gonna do this on Instagram stories. I hid my story from everyone except the few people I want to see my suicide note. I'm gonna take the SN in the middle of the night so they won't see it until morning. I'm also only going to post it when I'm about to pass out. Even if they call the police, I'm doing it in a different country and by the time they found me I'd be long gone.
You have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself. In my case I'm 100% certain they won't see my story until morning.
Or alternatively you can queue posts on some sites like tumblr and twitter (not built in but a separate website) to post at a later date/time

thank you ! i don't think you can queue posts on twitter but i think what i'll do is take a screenshot of my notes app & post it on insta very late at night. also planning on saying it's "queued / that i had died hours ago if this was posted because i didn't remove it." it's a lie but it will throw people off.

I don't know how much time we are talking about for your plans but you could ask for their email addresses if no better automated solution is found.

I am genuinely curious so please don't take this in negative way, but how did you come to learn about this? Are there any sources (even news articles will do) with respect to Boomerang or Time Cave potentially jeopardizing attempts that you can share with us?

Instead, I would suggest LetterMeLater as an delayed email service.

Thank you so much for suggesting an alternative resource. I don't use e-mail regularly myself, but I am sure that it may be a great help to those that do.

You can queue posts on twitter using a third party website. I used futuretweets.com a couple of years back (not for a suicide note), but if you Google you'll find many similar websites. I'd test them first with a regular tweet. I also don't know how likely it is that they'd bother to read everyone's scheduled tweets, I've never heard of such a thing

Really for me, I was only going to leave 2 letters of sorts, one that gave all logins/passwords/etc to my accounts for one purpose: I also gave a list of people to tell, and what not to tell some of them so people I want to know will find out--or at least I'd hope. granted some of the people/places if told would instantly cause a spreading of news to the others as they are all connected more or less. But I just picked people to tell that I knew would tell others, making it hit everyone I would care to know.

But those 2 people I'd give it to? they'd be a delayed mail send, and a delayed text send to one, just in case as well.

@Ame in terms of Boomerang, I have heard that there were some bugs or glitches that caused the delayed emails to be sent at the wrong time (sometimes sooner than ready). I did a search on the reliability of Boomerang and given something so important as a CTB note, I'd rather not leave anything to chance. As far as Timecave is concerned, a user by the name of @TiredHorse (who isn't around here since August 2019) has posted about the dangers of using Timecave and actually had law enforcement show up to question him. Luckily, while he managed to talk his way out of being hospitalized or probed any further, it is still unsettling that even these "services" are rather invasive on privacy and even go as far as to intrude on another's life.

Thank you so much for getting back to us on this. I agree that with something as important as the proper delivery of what may very well be one's last words, that reliability is paramount. Even if someone where to reconsider CTB and later choose to recover, there may be some unpleasant consequences (personal or interpersonal) for having these services misfire and send off your notes prematurely.
