  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

I definitely say if you get it right hanging can be the quickest for you to check out. I remember not realizing that I was hanging for a moment. I was like in a dream state and could hear noise in the distance. Such a hard experience to describe. Unfortunately if I'm being honest coming back to this world was a awful and scary feeling. Realized I was choking and took it off the noose. Started to just shake and cry in bed. But hanging will always be around with how quickly accessible it is.
I assume you were doing partial?? Sorry it was a scary experience :(

Yes it works like wonders if you get the right spot! And it was scary. Once I get over my fear of that I'll be able to try again.

Personally, not a fan of hanging in the same way that I'm not a fan of pills or slitting. (Although two of my favorite movie scenes are the opening of Harold and Maude and Richie shaving his hair in the Royal Tenenbaums.)
I, of course mean no judgement towards any of you on this (obviously, we're on a suicide forum so it's a lil' more serious for us all) but all three methods seem to have a high likelihood of interruption or failure.
I've known several people who have attempted these methods and lived.
A few who did not.

My preferred method is a gun.
I'm very attached to it, so much so that I will not own a gun until I'm ready. There is something so final and powerful and just done about it. Like Christine Chubbuck, on live air and in the back of the head/base of the neck so you sever your spinal cord.
I've known many people who shot themselves, all successful.

My biggest fear isn't killing myself, it's ATTEMPTING suicide and having to live with it, with everyone knowing and possibly with physical problems/brain damage and others keeping you alive.
It might just be because I'm from a rural hunting state, where guns are literally everywhere and don't scare me.
But I remember hearing about people who hang themselves (maybe doing it wrong) and are found with footprints against the wall and their fingernails ripped off from trying to loosen the noose/undo the knot after it ends up taking a painfully long time...now that scares me.
