I pooop too much. No matter if I eat my family's healthy food at home of fresh ingredients or unhealthy junk outside everything is too laxative for me.

Since I pooped 3 times today and it is still bright outside, I was wondering if maybe my body is digesting food too fast and discarding many nutrients as faeces while it does, which leads to me having low energy all the time no matter how much or little I eat. I need to use the bathroom sometimes just 1 hour after a meal but I don;t feel much more energised, just more or less the same after meals. The more I eat, the more I would shit out, literally. It just passes right through me.

I ate 2 pancakes, 1 sausage muffin, a hashbrown, a frappe, a big mac, medium fries, a medium coke at macdonalds today, as well as a small bowl of oats today. I shat it all out.

Maybe this digestive issue of my body potentially is caused by a parasite and maybe it is causing my depression? When I starve myself and when I eat a ton I still gain no weight and am very underweight. I don't lose weight too it is quite stable. Maybe this is the cause of my depression, 1 a parasite stealing nutrients. 2, my body being stupid functionally, and discarding nutrients before digesting fully. Idk, my poop is still brown. I consider my appetite average, in relative terms to friends and family.

Is it possible this is the secret cause of my misery?

If it's a parasite, eating chili and garlic and lots of strong spices and peppers will usually take it out if you do it for about a week. That at least cured my relative about 50 years ago when medicines and doctor visits were much rarer. She said her poop was full of parasites after doing that. Of course if a week of eating lots of chili, garlic, and spices doesn't help, then it's best to try something else. Also, try relaxing your stomach, and massaging and stretching it. Your stomach can't work if it spends all days and nights in a bad position. And try walking a bit more. Stress can cause pooping more as can caffeine too (coke has caffeine). And hyperthyroidism. Eating less salt can help with that.

If your poop floats in water, you have too much fat in your diet. So check that you aren't getting too much fat.

I hope these can help.

I've never heard that poop too much creates depression, but it could be. I recommend you to consult a specialized doctor (it can be a nutritionist). The fact that you eat but still remain very underweight could be a problem with hyperthyroidism

When reading the title, I thought you became thoughtful and pooping brings you philosophical questions and reminders, like what happens to me. It's the time of day which I'm reminded of the grotesque creature I am, that destroys millions of other living beings just to stay alive, for no reason. All that through my biological form, that horrendous creature, who poops.

But your problem seems to be physical, so, I would recommend, as others pointed, to see a doctor. Lack of certain nutrients is, indeed, related to depression, but I don't know if pooping frequency is associates with it.

In the meanwhile, you may try using probiotics to restore your intestinal flora. It helps absorbing nutrients.

I would research diets and treatments to experiment myself while I make an appointment with an specialist if you have the financial means. Yes, I think this can be related to your mental distress.

The actual nutrient density we absorb from food is less than the size of a pea.

I'm no gastrointestinal scientist but I suffer disease myself and am aware that Poop is mostly made up of bacteria, the microbioum families that live in our intestinal tract.
As humans we are over 60% bacteria.
People who don't eat still poo.
Its interesting and may be difficult to wrap your head around but it does make sense whe you experience the ups and downs of this hell.

wow this helps. I doubt it can be parasites. i dont see them come out, i do eat chilli and hot peppers time to time. drink a lot of booze. i walk once in 2 days, have little responsibilities and stresses. thyroid levels were last checked few months back to be normal. don't eat a ton of salt. i dont understand my body at all.

currently have a lot of fiber in my diet though, and it makes me more laxative. worth noting I usually don't eat macdonalds, only once a week or twice. most of the food i eat
is healthy homecooked food.

I think the most likely problem is 2, my body is just carelessly passing off digested food. that has to be the reason why the bowel movement is so fast too. sigh, even my digestive system is stupid

If I was in your shoes I would just cut out all animal products and see if there's any improvement. Replace milk with soy milk and the meat products with tofu/seitan. You go to a GI doctor and they're gonna say change your diet or we can go with further diagnostics (colonoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound etc) anecdotal but I had similar issues to you but pretty severe and debilitating stomach aches, went plant based and it changed my life. Plus it feels good to not be consuming tortured souls, and is much much healthier.

you gotta go to a good doctor and do lab tests, including a study of your feces, and talking deeply to the doctor before reaching any conclusion.

if absolutely everything is okay, you can simply reduce the amount of fiber in the diet. I know fiber is usually healthy, but there are indeed some people who feel better with less fiber.
from the foods you said you eat, brown rice, broccoli, vegetables and oats are high in fiber.

milk does not have fiber, but most people feel better removing it for various reasons. removing dairy may help to reduce inflammation.

in the most extreme cases, a carnivore diet (fatty steak, whole eggs & salt) may help, although it's definitely not for everyone.
went plant based and it changed my life.
I believe you. I really believe it may have improved your life and health a lot.

but I switched to the carnivore diet 3 years ago and it also changed my life and improved my health tremendously.
so I guess there are many roads that lead to Roma. although not everyone is willing to admit it.

also, many animals are killed to produce fruit and vegetables. they are killed to protect crops for human consumption. for example, billions of mice are killed to protect wheat, millions of ducks are killed to protect rice, small animals are killed by the harvesting and insects are killed by pesticides. you're just not seeing their face. most vegans are aware of this, they just don't understand the scale and the proportions of the killing.
if you do a carnivore diet with pasture-raised animals like beef, you're actually killing less animals than a plant-based dude who eats fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes.

look her. billions like her are killed for your plant-based food. the questions are: how cute does an animal have to look for someone to care about them? does everyone have money for supplements? is virtue signaling more important than reality?

Honestly I think the best decision is to go see a specialist if you can. No one here can give you adequate advice on this problem and I see some of the foods that were recommended here have quite a laxative effect and are meant for constipation. Please try to do some medical investigation, don't overlook this problem. I wish you lots of health!

I've done volunteer work with rodent rescues, I care quite a bit about all animals. It's a shame anything has to die to grow crops, vegans are quite aware that their diet still involved killing sentient life. Veganism isn't about removing suffering, it's about minimizing it to the best of your ability.

Everyone eating grass fed beef? How sustainable is that? How expensive is that?

Lmk how the carnivore diet is working out for people in a couple decades, I'll trust credentialed medical people and studies which indicate whole food plant based the be the objectively healthiest diet, and the most ethical.

This is a valid point. There is a far greater connection between our gut and our brain than we currently know.

Are you on any kind of medicine?

If I'm not mistaken fiber will make it worse cause it's made to make you go to make number 2 more often.

It might but it also slows your gut movements down by bulking up stool which gives more time to absorb nutrients which sounded like what OP thought their concern was.

3 bowel movements a day are not the concerning part, the average range goes from 3 times a week to 3 times a day. The real issue are your other symptoms, fatigue and weight loss may be caused by parasites, food intolerance or even a nutrient deficit from poor intestinal absorption. The only advice that I can give you is to go to your doctor first and then a nutritionist, it's impossible to know the root issue without proper testing and supervision. It may only be tangentially related to your diet, if at all.

Disregard any advice of radically altering your diet while you are dealing with gastric issues. That's just reckless and should only be attempted with a healthy body, vegan diets can be very hard on your system if you are intolerant to grains for example, not to mention that you need constant supplements to maintain some balance during times of illnesses. plus you may need the extra protein intake that is much easier to get from animal products if you want to gain some weight back. And I say this as a vegetarian.
