I understand that I'm supposed to use a slip knot for my neck, but what kind of knot do I tie to the pull-up bar? Also, how thick should the rope be? What material?

Find comfortable rope about as thick as your finger. Google "knots" and pick a simple one you can tie.

Is hanging from a pull up bar considered partial?

Will you be leaning forward on the noose, like in this video?

Full works, partial sometimes works.

Best of luck. Really lean into it hard when you start. You need maximum pressure for at least 5 seconds to pass out. Maybe longer.

You can also put a thin rag around your neck for more comfort. Just not thick enough that it takes away from the pressure of the rope. Ideally the carotid arteries are to be pressed on to lose consciousness and deny the brain oxygen.

Whatever you decide, hope you find peace.

If you want to reduce the agonizing probability, I suggest that you search a higher place (can't remember how high, but at least 70 cm I think) and the knot should go in the front part of the neck. That way you will break a vertebrate in your neck causing instant dead.
I wish you luck in whatever decision you make at the end. Peace.

What material should the rope be?
I think that's more important in other kinds of hanging besides partial.
Lots of things can work for partial, like neckties and scarves. Choose something comfortable and long enough for what you're planning.

In my research on here I found many people mention to use a double braided nylon dock line rope 10mm thick.
Any other members agree? I just don't want to give OP wrong information.
That is the rope I have though.

It should be alright, I have a rock climbing rope just to be extra sure. Comfort-wise, I'd say a nylon charging cable would be better

A phone charging cord? That is kinda thin to hang from a pull up bar ( OP mentions using a pull up bar as an anchor)

Nevermind, going to choose sodium nitrite instead. Hanging is too scary, and my parents might discover it because I have to do it in the living room instead of my personal room. It seems way more painful than SN.
