"[person] has started a private chat with you" notification leads to a blank page

if i click the link to go to the chat, the link works, but the page has no ui element for the actual chat, just a big empty space. remains blank even in a different browser and on my phone. is this a bug?

This used to happen to us. I think it's because you're too new to use that feature?

I feel like I remember that happening if someone tried to initiate contact with me before I was able to use that feature. I would have the link but clicking it went to nowhere until I had earned the ability to use the feature.

I don't even know why that's still allowed. It's been at least a year since I had that issue and asked about it myself, surely enough people have had it for people to consider making it inaccessible to chat with newbies? Maybe the coding is too hard.

It isn't just posts it is also active time on the site. Random number of posts and 24 hours of activity.

hey, im having the same issue. did you fix it by any chance or do you literally just have to reach a certain number of posts and replies for it to be fully unlocked?
