Pro-choice for suicide means a person is okay with others having a legal right to end their life in a humane manner, not alone and in pain. There are some people on this forum who don't believe this yet claim to be pro-choice. Imagine how ridiculous it would be if someone said they were pro-choice for abortion, but only if it was done alone, without a Dr. and in a crude and painful manner, and the woman cannot even tell others she's doing it,or else they'll be obligated to stop her. These people seem to really not care at all about suicidal people. They tend to focus entirely on the family/friends/loved ones of the suicidal person. All compassion goes to them and not the suicidal person. As if the suicidal person deserves to die a horrible death and not a humane one. As if they're doing something wrong. Well despite the fact that it's always difficult to lose someone you love whether by suicide or any form of death, that doesn't mean family has the right to force someone to stay alive or demonize them for their choice to be free of suffering. People don't owe their families anything, with the exception of parents who have some legal responsibility for their children. I'm not necessarily saying no parent of young children should ever CTB. But they do have a responsibility for them.

I agree, nobody should have to resort to painful methods that could fail, we all deserve the option of a peaceful exit at a time of our own choosing. Suicide should not be so stigmatised, it is cruel how people are expected to suffer for decades against their wishes.

Until I've started looking for my way out, I've never though how actually hard it is to quit with dignity. I believe that it should be more accessible to people, however with some requirements to make sure it's not completely impulsive. I'm getting to my 30s and I already hate everything for years. Therapy doesn't help and I can't imagine what I will be like if I will ever make it to 50. I wish I could quit with dignity before that.

You'll have to point me to this, l haven't seen anyone state this opinion tbh. I'm also very uncomfortable with the way this is expressed, the whole "naming no names, but some people on here are insufficiently pro choice for my liking" theme which recurs on here is not healthy and, unless you're unearthing a genuine anti-choice account here with malicious intent, I'm not sure what purpose it serves.
