Peaceful death research

I think more peaceful methods of death should exist. A lot of people wonder why so many want to die peacefully but honestly, I feel after you've had a life that's just absolute hell, a peaceful end is well deserved. I'd love to see a research facility where this could be further studied and somehow finding more ways to shut down the bodies system in a calm and gentle way. I believe everyone has a right to a peaceful death whether they're suicidal or just chronically ill and want the option. I feel not enough scientific research has gone into dying peacefully and that is bothersome to me! Of course, I'm not sure how we'd study it because it's not like we can just test trail human beings with a death drug lmao but I think it would be cool to have more research done on this very thing…. I get most of our society wouldn't be for it since due to the infestation of pro lifers, but I still think this should be studied more and more things should be created to end life peacefully other than just the option of N. I'd want to see a pill made that's had lots of testing and research trials and I believe that this pill shouldn't only be given to just terminally ill people

There's a few medical ways it can be done. They're just not readily available to people. The problem isn't really the research. Although there aleays new things to be learned and discovered the research has been done. It was done a few times. For example, when deciding on how to execute deathrow inmates.

The problem we face is that humans are unpredictable and problematic. We have varied views and morals so when it comes to ending a life officially there tebds to be disagreements surrounding it and as a result, legal consequences. So even if we could agree to make it an option for everyone therw is always the chance some relative or friend will object and create issues for the provider of the peacefull option. That's if we could just get over the taboos and bullshit on whether it's even okay to want to end your suffering peacefully. Research is all well and good but it's useless if humans can't agree on how to use it.

That said, I don't disagree. I would like to see the magic peaceful pill found and offered to terminally ill and elderly folk too. I just think we have a lot more issues in our way that take priority over said research. I mean qe know N does the job. But can we agree to provide it? Can we, fuck!

I agree. We all deserve the option of a peaceful exit, and nobody should have to die a painful suicide. We have already suffered enough in life so we shouldn't have to suffer as we leave this world. I doubt that the society would ever accept research into peaceful suicides, but it should be studied. I think that it's important having options of peaceful exits available for people. I did read on here about the Sarco which seems like an ideal, painless way to die at least for me.

There's the medical and relious.ethics to consider. Doctors are bound to saving lives and religion upholds the sanctity of life. Now they may be bound up in this. Meanwhile, we're stuck in it too and people will continue to die violently like my grandad or brutally like my parents died. You make interesting observations.
