• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I think I know enough Latin to write a cool sentence now.
Anyways, it obviously is an interesting time we live in. I wouldn't call these AI's "AI" yet.... They're glorified autocorrects. Predictive algorithms. But prediction has numerous uses, too. What if AI could predict the thoughts of world leaders? Diplomats? Generals? What use is espionage and subterfuge when your every move has been predicted and accounted for?

It makes warfare redundant and useless. Every major nation will employ AI someday to fight, and there will be a point when the famous "5D chess" is impossible, since the AI probably took the way you look at a billboard and performed a 99% accurate character sketch to figure out how you'd decide your next move. You can't outsmart anyone anymore, everything is known.

Thoughts? Also, what happens to MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction, or the Deterrence) in a disarmed world?

In a disarmed world we just go back to the way the old timers did it ... kill 'em one at a time.

I had this thought the other day. What if, in war one day, humanoid robots do all the fighting? Surely then, it will be the side with the most robots or best technology that wins. If human life isn't appallingly sacrificed, will it mean less? It likely wouldn't stop it though. We seem to have conflict hardwired into us.

Till the AI turn around and wipe us out though. Lol. That would be quite amusing really. Robots on opposite sides uniting and turning on their masters instead. Seems likely to happen one day.

"If everyone wins, no one is a winner" huh. Funny take, but it can genuinely happen. Fistfights for wars. "The Beijing shadowboxing", "The Moscow spinjitsu incident", "The New York Beyblade War", "The 3hour Delhi clubbing"
