If i hang myself in a pushup-like position with my face facing the ground of course (my head will be about 12 inches-30cm away from the ground but my toes will be touching the floor temporarily until i pass out) and letting gravity choke me -the noose will be behind my neck - what are the chances of failing? like what if my head or body tilted left or right after passing out? will the weight be enough to guarantee getting the job done no matter what?

If the support and rope are strong enough, and you say you are 12inches off the ground, then you will not fail unless you are found early.

I tried it once and it got my face all bloody and swolled and it hurt my neck. I think the best position is standing/sitting on chair position with the noose coming from the ceiling.

But in theory, it should work. And if you manage to pass out, you will 100% die unless you are found early or your system is broken.

I want to do something similar. Do you worry about the possibility of your arms going rigid after loss of consciousness? I worry that if that happens to me, that it's going to stop the process, like I'm going to push myself up so I'm no longer hanging.

This is my fear as well. I'd like to think that the movements would be too uncoordinated to be able to lift the upper body but who knows

It seems like it happens and passes quickly and then loss of muscle tension sets in but I think about this a lot

Sounds like you are compressing the jugular veins instead of carotid artery.
