Hello, after trying various other methods & figuring out which ones aren't viable for me given my situation, I've narrowed it all down to partial hanging.
I don't wanna get into detail regarding what got me to the point that I'm at, but I have 0 doubt in my mind that I'm doing exactly what I need to be doing and when I need to be doing it; continuing to live would only cause unnecessary further suffering both for me and people around me.
So here I am trying to figure out exactly how to go about the entire process, step by step.
First, a few pictures of the closet I plan to do it in:
The closet is ~41.75in (106cm) wide, ~20.85in deep (53cm), and the height between the bottom part of the metal bar and the bottom of the closet is ~59in (150cm). The strength of the bar hasn't been tested, as I have yet to obtain a suitable piece of rope (more on that in a second). Here comes my first question, though: would you say this spot is decent enough for the job, and does the bar looks like it could hold my weight (I'm roughly 150 pounds at 5'9)?
Second, the rope. I can get my hands on either a 5.5in wide (14cm) & 825 lbs of breaking strength (375kg) piece, or a 4.75in (12cm) & 660 lbs of breaking strength (300kg) one. Which of those do you think would be more suitable & at what length? Also, is polypropylene a good enough material, as getting a nylon equivalent is signficantly more difficult to get where I'm at.
Third, I hear putting a tea towel between your neck and the rope is a good idea. But, how thick does it have to be to prove any effective, but without making the rope's job more difficult. I have access to something like this in various sizes and thicknesses:
Fourth, at the anchor point, according to the info from this website: https://web.archive.org/web/20221119220411/https://suicide-wiki.com/index.php/Hanging , the snuggle hitch seems to be the best for a metal bar type of setup; would you agree? and obviously a slipknot for the actual neck, right?
Now, on the neck part, does anyone have any pictures on how exactly the placement of the knot should look like; it's hard to get the right idea off of just reading text instructions... a video(s) of someone executing it in action would be very helpful, too.
Lastly, if you fail at any point, how long does it usually take to regain consciousness?
That's it from me for now.
