Help Parents found out about my bitcoin purchase

When my bank account was made in my teens it was with my parents email.

Today I purchased some bitcoin to spend on N. Because it was a suspicious activity on my account they emailed the address attached to my account (my parents').

My dad just forwarded the email to me asking what it was (I spent a lot of money so I can't think of any excuse other than investment).

I won't be home until after midnight tonight and he'll be asleep, but in the morning he'll ask me what it is.

I'm struggling to think of a believable excuse that won't raise suspicion (my parents know I'm deeply depressed and possibly suicidal, and bitcoin is only really used to purchase drugs or illegal things and that won't bode well).

Some advice would be really helpful, thank you.

You can buy a lot of everyday things with Bitcoin. It's also a viable trade- or investment scheme to a lot of people. I don't think you'll have any trouble passing it off as something innocuous. I had a few grand in it at some point and nobody suspected I was up to no good (because I wasn't).

If you bought around $500 worth of Bitcoin, then the weed alibi holds up. Say you wanted to buy it off of Dream Market and that's about the price a few ounces cost (give or take due to price fluctuations). You'll say weed can produce an antidepressant effect which you've reacted agreeably to in the past. If you don't think that will fly, just say you wanted to invest in Bitcoin because it's a bear market right now. You're looking to make some extra cash once the market picks up again.

I haven't ordered it yet. Don't have enough bitcoin to afford N. I'll find a way to sort this out though, no big deal.

Yeah I would go with the weed excuse or the investment excuse in this case. Also, if they pry too hard, maybe try not to say too much, the less you say the less likely it is to reveal your true intentions (which is to obtain N).

I think because he got caught buying Bitcoin, they are going to go through all his packages from now on, no matter what.

UPDATE:

I just told my dad it was for an investment. He advised I sell the bitcoin and withdraw the money back into my account. I did it, which means I'm going to have to update all my personal banking info before I attempt to buy N from A. (I have a PO Box my parents don't know about so once it's ordered they won't have a clue).

Maybe say it was an investment. Try to see if you can cancel the order. Also see if you can change out the email address and get a PO Box.
