Social isolation and consumption of too much media to fill the gaps leads to Parasocial relationships i reckon. Symptoms/actions that insinuate or suggest someone being in a Parasocial relation colloquially/informally would be:
I lost the list.

Here's a new one ( not as good ):

You watch edits and stuff.
You watch the show or movie to be like that character.
Every major insight you think you gained from it might already be in your experiences or some book ( better to read ).

You feel proud of your relation with them. As in, it could be you knowing some show or movie that isn't mainstream and you might feel edgy or superior for knowing about it.
You schedule your days or your actions as per you watching them or their show/movie.

I feel you. I have fictional discussions in my head because of social isolation. I'm on screens all the day. My brain is destroyed and real life seems unreal to me

I already know I'm chronically online when I have fictional debates in front of the bathroom mirror (._.)

I used to be able to sleep only when I'd fantasize about me being in a better, more pleasant situation. It was comforting and all that but in reality it was a crippling addiction of sort. Same with the fictional arguments.

I don't think parasocial relationships are inherently bad. It's a coping mechanism and if it works, it works.
For some people this can be the only type of relationship they can be in due to mental illness or just being a shit stain of a human.
It could also be better than whatever alternative coping mechanism that can be physically harmful.

(Also, wtf, I thought it's normal to have fictional discussions in ur head. Like normies do it too.)

It's a very unhealthy cope. I was also relying on it heavily whenever i felt anxious, it was so soothing and easy. Comforting enough to make me sleep even, when i used to daydream and things. But it's really addictive and has a lot of demerits. I can list things, bad things that it results in if you want to. Internet has a lot of information on all this too.

While I wouldn't say I'm parasocial, I am a maladaptive daydreamer and I would daydream up imaginary friends or scenarios, fictional characters or maybe people I see online that seem nice to be around. I do it ALOT to cope with loneliness. I don't think it's extreme or any in my case, I'm fully aware of it and I don't do it for too long but it comforts me. It helps me sleep, helps me go through tough situations, whenever I'm sad, etc. Having nobody else to turn to so I have to turn to my imagination

I understand you. I have the same stuff making me go anxious. I find comfort in daydreams, and I have a habit of dreaming positive/favourable outcomes of a situation that is about to happen. This sort of makes me procrastinate, be less focussed and obviously when the outcomes aren't as favourable as I daydreamed about them, I feel really disillusioned. I just wish we both find better self control and stuff to fill in the voids in ourselves, making us rely on such practices.
Night, bye !
