Yesterday I tried to hang myself in my room. It was completely dark.

I had the rope around my neck and when I was about to kneel down my cell phone screen turned on by itself lightning the room.

The only way to do it is by pressing a button which of course I didn't. But the most shocking thing was that it stayed turned on for like 30 minutes until I turned it off.

My phone works fine. I'm sure that it happened for another reason.

I'm the most logical and skeptical person ever but at that moment I was in tears because my father passed away a couple of years ago and I thought that it might be him telling me not to do it.

What do you guys think? Have you ever experienced something like that?

I am a Pagan Spiritualist and have seen, heard and witnessed many things over the years. I never push my beliefs onto anyone else, but what you have described happened with your phone, I would say was paranormal. Things can happen at the most strange times and in my views for a reason or when it needs to.
This could well be a loved one, your father who you mentioned, distracting you and getting your attention. I believe it is very likely it happened and was a sign that it wasn't your time to leave or if you had gone through with it, it may have gone wrong and life could've been even worse than what is now.

Although I believe in afterlife and paranormal etc, I still like to look for logical explanations with things, however often there is none. Your phone may have just happened to switch on by itself, right at that second and was pure coincidence, but for me I dont think that and when I first got into Spiritualism I was told Coincidence doesn't exist/occur.

I would take comfort in this if you can, to know someone, probably your father is looking out for you. I guess you maybe having mixed feelings about it and part of you might be vexed it stopped you in your plans, but it happened and I like to believe it happened as was meant to.

I have never attempted to CTB before but, I probably wouldn't go through with it if that happened to me.

I don't think there's anything like that, surely it was your brain that tries to trick you and makes you see things that really aren't.

And with that said, subconsciously your brain might be telling you that you probably aren't ready yet and were deep down relieved when a reason to pause came-about.

Yes, I'm trying to think that way. But the timing was so precise that I'm very confused now. I ran a couple of tests on my phone to see if it happens again but it didn't.

That sounds terrifying!

I, myself, am a spiritualist, I believe in tarot card readings, astrology and the spiritual life. I'd say that was somewhat of a sign but of course you are free to interpret it anyway you'd like. I've had a few paranormal experienced but mostly of the negative kind, probably for messing with the spiritual life.

How are you feeling after this experience? Chills? Creeped out? Stay safe x

Test it again.

Did you took any type of medication/drugs before you hang that day (yesterday)? If not, then try it again (hang) next day, in the dark again, see if the phone thing happen again. If it happen again then it no coincident, I would be freak out.

I would think that on the "other side" if someone got through, it wouldn't be easy and probably wouldn't happen again. Thinking from a spiritual mindset of course. That part in the movie Interstellar made me think because it kinda took an idea I had a bit and made it more scientific like, where he's trying to communicate with his daughter through a worm hole I believe.

Listen to me, the brain tries to deceive you, nobody and nothing will come to try to save you or give you a warning because there is nothing, you die and even forever.

^^^ This.

My son died 1 year ago and NOTHING, NO signs, NOTHING that show there is a soul, let alone paranormal activities lol (which I don't believe in)
I don't believe in any of those. When you die is THE END. You be in a forever state of knowing nothing, and nothingness just like when you get put under.

Let see when I put a tactical shotgun to my head, let see if my son will come back and give me any sign.

I'm fine. Thanks for asking. The problem is that I had made the decision to CTB and I was determined to do it but now I'm afraid of making a mistake

We all make mistakes. If you don't feel sure, I'm sure you've considered it, but how about you take a break from this active planning? We are here for you. x

I haven't experienced anything I would call supernatural in my life so I can't really identify, most of these experiences I think have rational explanations. Although I would call myself a spiritual person, I don't believe in ghosts. However, it is possible this was a supernatural experience I don't think we can really say for certain it wasn't.

Regardless of the cause of this, maybe it happened to tell you there is a better way for you to deal with whatever your going through at the moment. I wish you all the best

I'm glad someone brought this up, because I've had some weird shit happen to me when I've been close to, or attempted, to ctb.

It wouldn't surprise me if this is just our minds noticing certain things and making excuses because a large part of us wants a reason to not do it. I dunno.

Maybe it was paranormal, maybe it wasn't. You were seconds from death, yet here you are, alive and meditating on the mystery of life. That's magical in itself.
