whenever i get really anxious, i could feel my heart beating. a lot of intrusive thoughts would be running over my head and i would feel like my head is gonna explode. i would start hyperventilating and start banging my head, begging and crying for it to stop.
any idea what i'm feeling? i think it's a panic attack but i'm not sure. it would come randomly at times

That sounds like a panic attack and/or stress. There are prescription meds that can help with anxiety.

Valerian root and kava are over counter in the USA. They are just natural relaxers. For me personally, valerian root really helps calm me down. Kava does too,but also makes me feel sleepy. But both really do help.

I get a similar symptom whenever i am extremely anxious and depressed. When it comes to panic attack i try run away from the situation as desperate as possible. So for me it seems like extreme anxiety or depression but only you knows the answer.

Edit: nevermind, i have one of the cluster c personality disorder so it is probably what makes me want to run away as desperate as possible when in certain crowded situation. So it might not be a panic attack. Then i haven't experienced what panic attack be like. As for extreme anxiety and depression though the symptom is similar to what described. Difficult in breathing, thus hyperventilation. Beating heart so fast.

Hello, this is a panic attack if you have a huge fear without a reason to have it (and it is like you are chased by a huge lion willing to swallow you).
Keep in my mind that it is a relatively safe thing, nothing serious will happen to your brain or to your body.
This is an adrenaline rush which is not life-threatening.
Just keep yourself as lower as possible, some are fainting after a hyperventilation.

It sounds like panic attack. Does something trigger them?

Very old school trick which isnt highly recommended anymore but ive found still helps for me. Get a paper bag if your hyperventalating (breathing crazy like) and hold it in one hand around the top. And breath into. Your own carbon monoxide will ( for lack of the actual scientific knowledge) calm your brain. Its like basically decomposing oxygen which makes u enter this state of idk. Lethargy. But it stops the attack

Carbon dioxide? Monoxide?

I guess it comes whenever I'm in a anxious situation/ place. Sometimes it would come randomly or it would happen whenever I think about a bad memory.

Yep, that's definitely a panic attack. You can get treatment and medication for the underlying anxiety.

Sorry, but if you have to ask yourself whether or not it was a panic attack, then chances are it wasn't. When it happens, you just know.

I've had situations like the one you're describing and I've also had panic attacks, which are different.

In panic attacks your body goes full fight or flight mode, and you feel like you're literally going out of your mind. It's probably one of the worst feelings in the world. Heart palpitations, hands go numb, the horrible feeling of dread and andreline rush from hell. Fight or flight is the best phrase to describe it.
