I refuse to succumb

The world—painful and suffering,
Searching for hope—agonizing in it's existence.
Hating, and taking, and breaking, and berating them,
Showing them no love, no compassion, no care, no kindness,
Neglecting their hurt, their cuts, their scars, their abuse.
And in their minds they view themselves as nothing more than a vessel burdened with living in a world they can't bear.
Because the people around them could not understand their want of death—they couldn't understand the hellish reality of humanity.
Sprawling at the endless cycle of cruelty, the world made them meaningless—and it loved it.
