I think some types of pain are more bearable than others.
This. If I had to chose between SN or longdrop hanging with decapitation I still go for the latter, the pain will be tremendous but it should be short.

On a sidenote, sleep deprivation also plays a major role, you are much more vulnerable to pain.
And having a high level of dopamine helps immensly to endure pain, like that mountain climber who got stuck with his arm between a rock and was able to cut of his arm with a knife ... I know I could never do something like that, even when my life depended on it.

period pain
Ha, ha, I thought you were a guy because of your screen name.
As a guy, I can't speak for menstrual pain, but my observation is it varies widely.
is your fear of pain bigger than your will to die as quickly as possible?
Yes. Inert Gas is not as fast as shotgun to head. Inert gas is less risky if you fail.
In fact, inert gas is not as fast as some information would lead one to believe, i.e.: a few seconds after starting? - no!
But inflicting violence on someone else vs yourself , is something maybe a male opinion would help shade light on!
I have never felt the need to hurt anyone else other than myself, but I can agree that, as a whole, males tend to be more violent. Just my observation.

Women get higher testosterone during periods too. PMS explained hahaha. But inflicting violence on someone else vs yourself , is something maybe a male opinion would help shade light on!

Thank you for your input, it's very engaging!

I didn't know women had testosterone, i just found out the other day lol. but same for men have estrogen aswell

I can't decide as every type of pain to me is different. at work i used to hurt myself altimeter, hit myself with a hammer fall off ladder, burn myself. and i could deal with it(although burning really hurst)

but i mean burning alive i could imagine that not being quick but excruciating.

on the male violence thing, i've had loads of fights and also been beaten up ( i had ribs broken and it didn't even bother me, i mean it hurt a bit but i just got up .called them a dick and walked off, 2 of them aswell ). i will say i have never just started a fight for no reason though( now whether my reason was justified might not been seen ok to others). I did it to protect myself, i wouldn't change that part of me for the world!

I'm a woman and phyical pain has been a constant part of my life for a few years now. While I'm usually at least in some discomfort, there are days where the pain is excruciating. That's how I know I don't like pain. I'd hate to have to feel it in my last moments.

I'm female. Less scared of pain. I had cancer at 18 and a total of 11 surgeries lived through some pain. I went without pain meds after surgeries so I can released be earlier so I can smoke. I have been in constant pain since my son died so a few minutes of pain is nothing if it means I will get out of this existence I am here suffering in and will wake up on the other side reunited to my son.
I wrote this when I had a migraine so bad I was dizzy. I can't edit it so had to do a reply. edited in this "I went without pain meds after surgeries" "few minutes of pain is nothing if it means I will get out of this existence I am here suffering in and will wake up on the other side reunited to my son."

Already jumped off a 15 meter bridge as kind of impulsive training.
Dont give a damn about pain, life fucked me over so hard that in fact I seek pain.
Methods like N making you just fall asleep and never wake up have no appeal to me, because I already saw my own bone and I want to feel it again.

And Im also a girl, so double weird (most of my female friends from psych ward attempted via OD / superficial wrist cutting cause they were afraid of pain)

Was that when you jumped?
Wow! You are courageous!

Yeah. I saw it and I screamed. Loud. And trashed about until they forcefully pinned down my leg and put a belt in my mouth and told me to bite.
Scary shit.

Think of this when answering; Would you rather die in 45 minutes with no pain or 5 minutes with high/extreme pain?

Because the next step after this question goes; is the pain worth a shorter CBT time that will guarantee death VS the painless way that has more chance to be discovered and rescued?

Well now hold it. I don't consider 45 minutes much of a wait, so if it'll kill me for sure, why not exit painlessly? But if you move the goalpost to where I might be found & interfered with during the wait: Unfair! Not what I signed up for!

I generally feel I don't mind some pain if I'm sure of the method. It's not essential to me, though.

Interesting! Because for me, being found and rescued is more scary than the pain. I'd rather a brutal death where I can't be saved over something peaceful that can be reversed!

That's very interesting thank you for sharing.

I hope you find peace!!

Er ... I think I'm saying the same thing: If it's sure to kill me and painless, why not spend 45 minutes on it. But if you mean it might not kill me, forget it. Sure & quick please.

I voted scared of pain... but my motivation for ctb is pain. So I'm torn between pain and no pain method wise. What's a little more pain to be pain-free? But why suffer more than I already do? It's quite the catch 22.
