I keep narrowing the parameters of who I want to talk to. Both my parents committed suicide, so if you are considering leaving children behind, please do not contact me. I don't mean to be judgmental, but you cannot fathom the effect this decision will have on your children. This is how cycles get started.
Is there anyone out there who I can talk to who is actually single, childless, and over 40?

I am 53, never married, no kids. One reason I decided never to marry or have children was that I suspected that suicide might be in my future, and I did not want to devastate anybody. Make people sad, yes. But never devastate. That is also why I am holding off on killing myself, since my mother is still alive. But after she is dead and I have successfully published a novel or two, then I would feel free to go.

I will be so in a year, but I would not want to judge others who were not. We cannot know of others' suffering.

I'm 43 and aborted all my kids. No partner, and life is pretty depressing now especially after I had to leave the city because of corona lockdown.

I'm trying very hard not to CTB it's all I ever think about. I started treatment a year ago and it's beginning to fail. i have had several attempts beginning at age 9. I started today experimenting with a couple different methods. I don't want to scar my family. I try and talk things seem good but Then I start to... experiment. I'm very close to CTB I do not fear death just fear my wife and kids hurting and starting a trend

True that. I'm almost 40, no children. I knew I couldn't stick a child into this world. Especially since I've wanted to die since I was six. ..... After 40 women can be useful, but only if they are a " nurse with a purse." Somebody who will take care of societies elderly/ disabled population. Plus, there are plenty of men looking for a woman with money to take care of him....other than that, yes we're deemed useless and dried up without fertility or beauty! Even though men's sperm quality, as they age, carries many more defects to the offspring, then younger sperm. Yet, that message gets buried.....

I've had old men in the nursing homes say this crap to me, "men age like fine wine, women like milk" ...no fence to many of the elderly men who believe this. Maybe it's their cataracts that blind them....cuz there's NO fine wine happening there....not in my opinion!!.- (That's what I would have loved to have responded, but didn't)...Then they'll ask, "So why didn't you have children?" lol ....."Hmmmmm, let me think. After hearing repeated HURTFUL comments like that, which i am forced to endure with silence, because i need money or i will end up in poverty.... i am glad i never stuck a child here in this shallow world that only uses people for their looks, height, gender, money, skills, family of origin, fertility."

...I guess some people are better at lying to themselves, because i think this is NOT a world for to put innocent children!. Yes. I agree with that that We all lie to ourselves.The only difference is I didn't force innocent people into this world of lies, and then demand that the child stay, and demand that they like it. Many parents treat their children like shit, then say I love children! Yeah right...it shows...not so much.... Then the child free are seen as hating children...Well, I think it's more hateful to put a child in this hellish world, so the breeder must hate children! Don't think I'm judging you, I was one of the children you describe. I'm also not pro anything I don't care what other people do as long as they stay away from me. I also don't know anything about a 100 years ago lol. I've also provided my children with a loving home and the freedom to be and express themselves. All people judge others to a certain degree, myself included..... i hear parents judging their children all the time. Especially how their child feels....like you don't really know how someone feels, just cuz someone is a parent, they shouldn't assume.....As you feel, i imagine your children COULD feel the same about themselves. Like my parents-it never dawned on them that I have the same feelings as them- I get stressed, i feel pain- did you think i was immune? ...it's like they think i should be grateful to them for saddling me with this. .....Some breeders are not even AT ALL considerate of others! Like we all have to share this planet, and with other species too, can you NOT have 10-20 children!!! please! Can we get birth control and education, family planning, to the overpopulated nations so that we can spare the suffering of millions of starving souls.. When they were babies, they were saved by modern medicine only to reach mid-childhood to be abandoned to starve! Like if we're gonna save them, don't make them suffer! IT's just heart-breaking and callous to do something like that!! .....It's already feeling PRETTY crowded in this world, where never in recorded history have so many people occupied the planet..... Do you know how similar humans are to rats in brain functions...put too many rats in a cage, and pretty soon particularly the female rats get hyper aggressive.....people need their space just like rats!

This graph shows how the population has climbed up in number of humans more gradually, but then with the rise of modern-medicine, globalization, and the HYPER pro-life agenda, the population SOARED astronomically in the past 100 years or so! I didn't really read the article, so if there is something you don't like, i am just going for the graph and this one was easy..... Sounds like you do a lot of assuming and judging. I don't mean that as an insult and I like this open dialog. You do make some valid points, I agree with most. Especially that the world is Overpopulated. I personally don't research or care how many people are on earth. People can breed not breed, Fee free to do what they want. I know a lot of bad people and a lot of people I deem to be real good.
I don't know how my children feel or anyone else. Being I've hidden my issues from the world until as of late. All I do is help them by supporting there ability to express themselves, both financially and emotionally. I allow them the space to be there own person regardless of who that might be.

I would ask how they feel, your children, how you help them that you choose to bring here, becuz i won't assume their feelings....But I'll take your word that you try to help, as i cannot ask your children...Besides, parents SHOULD take care of their children. NO awards for it either! Because you should if you chose to procreate, unless you were raped and/or forced/or just plain ignorant....(that requires furthar explanation which i won't delve into now)....

Ancient tribes used to commit infanticide, cuz they didn't have as reliable of bc and family planing- which was commonly practiced in tribes when the populations got out of control, to where people were stressed, resources were threatened, quality of life for the majority deminished....I think that is more merciful then keeping a bunch of children alive, only to starve and HUMILIATE them. But today we have family planning, so we don't even have to commit infanticide (which is a live infant killed). We have better methods to just avoid the suffering all together., but some have little access......

I am okay with being judgmental on that, because it's cruel to force life in the world to face immense suffering!...... I'm not suggesting we get too Pro-death either (as that becomes cruel too, obviously), but less obviously TODAY, with what''s happening with mass starvations.....THis is the result of the Pro-life agenda getting WAY out of control!.....peace
