Firstly thanks for letting me join this group.

The last 7 days have been a rollercoaster to say the least.

The pressure from my job and after having another incident onboard which I am now being blamed for - I shall add I work as cabin crew and have been crew for the last 10 years. Last Monday had someone smoking in the toilets which caused a fire I was unfortunate enough to deal with this incident after which several passengers attempted to blame myself for the fire.

I am now being investigated by the company - there has been no support and to be fair I have just had enough now espicawllly after discovering that my roster has been cleared for a further 5 days. Not eating properly, sleeping, etc. Only way I can see out of this is to go nice and peacefully.

I have a partner of 11 years who works in the same industry as me and hate the thought of leaving him but I am at the point now that this would be the most desirable option.

I've come to terms with it and hopefully be able to go through first time with some preparation. I am hoping to use helium gas with an exit bag as want a painless way to end it. Thinking my favourite music on in the background then I can just go peacefully.

Have been considering this for the last week since the incident first happened in some small way I am hoping that the company may look into the support offered to their employees etc something which I doubt will ever change but one can hope.

Helium may not be a good option. It's getting rare, and I heard some are mixing other gases in with it to spread the wealth. If you are absolutely sure that is what you want to do, check that you are getting what you think you are.

The small helium tanks you can buy at party stores isn't any good because it's 80% helium & 20% oxygen. It basically needs to be 100% (like 99.99, close enough). You can rent tanks at a welding shop (if you're in the US), but I called 3 or 4 different ones & they said there's a major helium shortage like TowerUpright said. There was only 1 shop I could rent 2 big tanks of pure helium from (for me & a partner), and the price was over $700 for the tanks & flow regulator. Ouch, said I.

Sorry that you find yourself in this position, work related stress is a blight now in the world. If the investigation was found in your favour, would that change things for you?
