FLASHING LIGHTS WARNING

Skinned Deep from 2004

Directed by Gabriel Bartalos

The Killer Condom from 1996

Directed by Martin Waltz

although for a while I thought it was directed by Jörg Buttgereit (Director of the Nekromatik series and Der Todesking)
he only did the special effects for this film which were funny and pretty great I always laughed a bit when I saw the condoms basically fly through the air or run around like rodents

"In New York City, detective Luigi Mackeroni investigates a string of mysterious penile mutilations at the Hotel Quickie. After Mackeroni attempts to have a tryst with a gigolo he meets in the lobby, a carniverous condom bites off his right testicle and flees, which sets the detective off on a quest to stop the predatory prophylactic once and for all."

This film has been on my watchlist for quite some time and I finally got around to watching it today
I recommend it (if not bothered by some of the graphic content, there's some sex and nudity but not extremely graphic) and gave it 5 stars

although it isn't perfect and not for everyone
it's on The Internet Archive with English subtitles

absolutely insane

The production of this movie was just absurd. I believe some of those were wild animals. They had to put themselves at a lot of risk to film this movie. I remember watching it as a kid, it was phenomenal. But it was nothing but hell for the cast.

Went through the thread. You have eclectic tastes OP,damn.

The bubble bath trailer was really cool. But that skinned deep one? I'm going to have to forget that soon. I'm too squeamish for horror.

how are you too squeamish for horror/SFX

with a Guts profile picture

- from someone who refuses to read Berserk due to all the horrors + how weird some of that fandom can be

Tbh,I see Berserk as a story about trudging on and overcoming adversity.that's what it's all about. But yeah, I did find it very disturbing as well when I first read it.

a universe where everyone breasts boobily
one of my favorites, very good, haven't read the magazine

didn't watch the second one because it looks like it sucks so a better alternative to animated science fiction anthology similar to this without it being the sequel to this film would be the show Spicy City

NSFW WARNING (edit: definitely NSFW now as I have added a trailer with additional context with the more not so but still NSFW one)

I don't watch anime anymore but I do have some films on my list rather than shows

there are so many films from the 80s and 90s (especially within this genre of animation) that predict or have a fear related to robotic prostitutes/and just regular robots gone murderous

or films about companion robots / love interests turning out to be robots that are also the enemy

it's so fascinating/interesting because growing up I never would've predicted what things would be like with AI today

soon the horrors and worries of such films may become a reality (maybe ? who knows ?)

I wish that this film was gatekept it's one of the most relatable films I've probably ever watched besides Gummo and one of the least weirdest films in Todd Solondz discography (at least from what I've watched, Happiness and Palindromes were horrible I wouldn't recommend them because of the stories/disturbing plots)

as someone who was bullied at the same age as Dawn especially by people who were almost like Brandon it's very upsetting, infuriating, and weird to see that people who recently found out about this film are making "romantic" edits about some girl's highschool bully who both threatened to kill her and threatened to rape her on multiple occasions (yeah he was also one of the people to show her kindness but that still isn't okay + the whole "bad at home life" thing people always say in bullying situations and films I think that argument has only worked in one film I've seen recently which was Mean Creek)

I hate the whole if x person is mean to you or is bullying you they secretly like or have a crush on you
you'd think in 2025 that would not be a thing to say to people anymore

It will I'm sure.I've always felt that AI and robotics.I fear that it will pervade every part of our lives. Every aspect.

Maybe you want to try the movie Her? It's about a guy and an AI that fall in love. The protagonist is Jaoquin Phoenix. This movie actually had a 10 out of 10 rating when it came out. Dropped later though.

The ending is pretty interesting.

I ABSOLUTELY HATED THAT MOVIE

sorry.

I have removed it from my memory I watched it a few years ago to see what all the fuss was about and it was so cringey and bad meanwhile everyone talked about it as if it's in the same realm as Lars and The Real Girl (which is a way better film with different subject matter and themes)

I wish I could use a time machine and tell my younger self Her was going to be ass and to watch Ex Machina instead and then give my younger self the release date for the film Companion !

I think it's genuinely one of the worst movies I've ever watched besides The Lobster

and thinking back on the film from an adult perspective and the current state of the world it's very depressing and I don't see how anyone would watch it willingly not there's anything wrong with that but I would not recommend my worst enemy that film well maybe I would...

sitting through it felt just like this

Fine fine, you and your eclectic tastes lol.To be honest, I recall it was slow moving. But I thought the ending was cool. But sure it isn't really a top tier choice.

I should have recommended raw head Rex. a silly old horror movie that i saw mistakenly when i was 8 years old and gave me nightmare's.🥲

I'm just kidding, don't try to watch it. It's not good at all.

I know how this ends and I will read the book eventually some day but the film seems terrifying (too afraid to watch) because it really makes you wonder/very alert and aware
