So there is a research report I found which says that a certain dose of oral Ketamine can help within 2 weeks for depression (or up to 6 weeks...). The dose is based on body weight. The papers also said that this is more of a useful and less pricey way of using Ketamine (and to note: USA Ketamine clinics have been also/or instead offering oral ketamine rather than infusions during Covid times). It does seem to have less efficacy than infusions, but there is still a percentage of people who get great benefit from it. Here's the research I found:
*Here's a quote from one paper that is moving:

These findings suggest that if ketamine is to find a place as an off-label treatment for depression and suicidality in mainstream psychiatry, researchers should study the safety, efficacy, and optimization of oral ketamine. Intravenous and intranasal routes may be monetarily more promising, but the oral route could be of greatest service. (that's from https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30997961/ )
*Here is a reassuring quote from another paper:

Besides, data from chronic pain management indicate that oral ketamine can often be safely used for longer periods of time, including at home (https://bmcpsychiatry.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12888-019-2359-1)
*Here's another paper: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30946543/

This article is also really interesting as it says Tramadol helps Ketamine work better...., but it relates to rats which we know aren't the same as humans!: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23124884/

I am going to try this...I'll let you all know how it goes. I won't be able to cope without adding other stuff to it, but maybe I will start waking up in the morning feeling less desperate and panicked.
Just read this: basically oral Ketamine has poor bioavailability, so that is why it is weaker than infusions:

Intravenous (IV) ketamine and even the newly approved esketamine nasal spray as options for treatment-resistant depression are costly and difficult to implement, prompting interest in oral ketamine, despite its poor 20% bioavailability. These investigators reviewed evidence on oral ketamine in depressed patients from two small randomized, controlled trials (RCTs; 68 patients receiving ketamine; 1 RCT of depressed patients with chronic headache) and several uncontrolled studies (1 prospective study of depressed hospice patients, n=14; 10 case reports or series or chart reviews, n=141).

So maybe I will snort it or put it under my tongue.
2 final papers, both quite hopeful:

The above is from one clinic. Maybe the dose is every second day. Snorting better than under tongue better than swallowing pills.

I did this back in the day!
As a self-medication attempt for depression and chronic pain, by snorting (the taste is horrible).
It only helped with that momentarily but I think it may have had some mind-altering effects, not necessarily in a bad way

I would never be able to self-administer K. I'd just want to get high and stay high and therapy be damned.

Hi, it has helped. It's the reason I've not been on the forum in a few weeks. Today is my first day of feeling miserable again, and today it's kind of situational .

After trying two SSRI's my psych suggested K for instant recovery. It was through IV injection. I got the injection four times. It felt good when I was high. But as soon as it wore off I was back to normal. I hope you're among the 50% for whom it works.

I love Ketamine but no longer know anyone who sells any clean stuff.

It was so helpful I stayed on it 24/7 for a few days just watching deep TV and forgetting existence.

I wish I could have got some before I leave this worthless place.

I don't know if this stuff is clean, but it definitely helps. I am taking other stuff too, but it definitely helps the micro-dosing.

The stuff I have: I don't know if it is clean, but it does definitely help. It has given me some happy days. Which just never happens usually. I'm in the UK and get it posted.

Anyone is welcome to PM me if you want to ask about it. I'm not on here every day all day at the moment, because I'm feeling better than before, but I will check messages.

I am also taking occasional Tramadol (150mg) once or twice a week - I am under quite a lot of stress at the moment. Also Modafinil, which is really really helpful if I don't take it every day. And thank goodness, THC. Modafinil can be bought online.

But the microdosing K helps a lot. I am waking up without suicidal thoughts. Which is amazing.

I am waking up agitated/anxious - which is partly my breathing habits, possibly the mental illness and possibly the stress. So I am medicating myself for the agitation and anxiety. But the suicidal thoughts which were constant are currently barely there. Only in extreme moments of stress, and I'd suffered twenty years.

I wish everyone could have a safe supply and be trusted to look after themselves on dose-age.

They have held this research back so long - and put it so it is only for the rich, when actually it can help more people who are suffering.

That's good you have found something to give you pleasure/help.

I could never do a micro dose once I know I have relief at hand I have to do it all till it's gone, which is why I'd make a lousy drug dealer.
I have to give my tablets I self medicate with to a trusted friend and go to theres across the city to pick them up every two days.

Wanna hear about it!!!!!!!!! Recently finished 6 infusions whilst in South Africa, where each treatment was $125 instead of $450 - $600.
Felt great those 2 weeks - now, back to hoping every headache is an inoperable brain tumor and every ache is something fatal….
I did check with the psychiatrist whose waitlist I'm on - since August I've gone from 188 to 165 on his list.

My Psych just told me to try ketamine it would be $5000 for the acute first treatment and then there are maintenance treatments.
Just too expensive for me personally.
But, good luck to you.

Whilst this has promise, please don't pin your hopes on it as a miracle cure. That is a sure way to set yourself up for disappointment.

Also please note that ketamine is extremely damaging to the bladder and kidneys. Should you choose to take it - as with any decision - insure you have done your research first.
