At the end of the day, no one knows what truly happens to our consciousness after death. Does it evolve, get recycled, or cease? What we believe is purely a matter of faith.
Life is suffering, and I support whatever path people take to liberate themselves from suffering. I choose to believe that I will only achieve non existence by reaching nirvana, not through ending it, as that will just repeat the cycle of samsara. If this is a journey you want to embark on or explore further before making a decision, go for it. Whatever route you choose, I wish you freedom from suffering and a peaceful non existence
I am Hindu, so to me, reincarnation is definitely likely. I prefer to think of reincarnation as another chance at living a happier life. This life isn't great, so I would prefer to die and be reincarnated into a different life. Hopefully, that life would be better.
I'm posting way too much, but I have so much to let loose.
I'm working towards becoming comfortable with death again, like I was when I had my near-lethal attempts. But I am stuck on the fear that death may not be non-existence and OCD makes me fixate on these thoughts.
I'm afraid of being reincarnated and things being worse. I'm afraid of being able to "watch over" my family and having to see them suffer. I'm afraid that ending my life won't end my consciousness and suffering. Even though I don't even really believe in all that stuff.
In my opinion, reincarnation isn't real. Once you die, you die, it's just lights out. I've read stories where a crow came to someone's yard and started screaming and it reminded of their grandpa, yeah I dont buy that.
