OD on blood pressure meds (carvedilol)

Does anyone know anything about this? I have a large quantity and am considering using them to ctb. My intended method was SN with partial hanging as backup but pills seem more peaceful than poison. I haven't been able to find much information about blood pressure meds (beta blockers) in terms of OD or lethality. I might still have to have SN prepared as backup.

Beta Blockers can be lethal but you'll need a lot of it and an add on such as a calcium channel blocker.

propranolol for example can work but you would need at least 1 gram to potentially be lethal.

Bear in mind overdosing on blood pressure pills doesn't work as often as ppl think. If you survive you'll be suffering with a lot more other issues.

I attempted on Clonidine once, 46 pills. Don't remember the exact dose (0.25mg?) but I was alive the next day, only very weak (could not stand or walk on my own) and had to go to the ER after several days. Was fixed up quickly after saline IV, had very bad hypotension. So yes, if you need to use this method, use a shitton and add that calcium channel blocker Avalanche81 mentioned. It is painful to survive...

Hmm, 46 of .25mg would be only about 10mg total. I have 60 25mg caredilol so about 1.5g as well as calcium blockers. I'm not sure how they compare, but I would think 150+ times the dosage of a similar drug might be more effective. Though, again I have no proof (yet).

I wish you the best if you attempt it. I looked it up and the LD seems to be lower than the amount you have (though there's no official paper on it, just reports of overdoses) so it might work well with the calcium blocker.

Thanks, do you happen to remember the site/source so I can check it out? I'm leaning more toward SN and using a (small) OD on these pills in conjunction. I know they're no longer "suggested" in ppeh but it couldn't hurt.

Agreed if you survive it you'll be in a worse position then you already were in.

My understanding with gabapentin is you'll need a few more other drugs for gabapentin to just have a chance to OD.

If you could find a potent opioid to go with your gabapentin you'll have a better chance. Like anything else still not a guarantee so lake sure to do your research.

Poison was a common thread for convicted murderer Lynn Turner.
Serving two life sentences for killing her husband and boyfriend with antifreeze, Turner, 42, died in prison on Aug. 30 from a likely suicide after ingesting 15 times the recommended dosage of her prescribed blood pressure medication, Georgia Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Kris Sperry said Wednesday.



She only had 15 pills....
