I'm planning on CTB this week on Friday and in the UK, it is almost impossible to get an AE without having prescription. I don't have time to order online or international so I was thinking of using SN without an AE and only using Ibuprofen. I have Nytol which has the ingredient Diphenhydramine. Could this be used as an antiemetic? Or will it make it worse?

Hi, I also live in UK and I know how hard is to get antimetics. I am also planning to attempt ctb with SN without antimetics (I will organise it well in case of failure).
Isn't diphenhydramine 1st generation antihistamine which is also for short use to help with insomnia? I mean I consumed copious ammounts of ( 4000mg in span of 2 days) it with alkohol and I still felt nauseated.

I have Nytol which is a sleeping pill that has diphenhydramine in it. I read a thread somewhere that alluded to the idea that it could be used as an antiemetic but I don't want to take any chances. If you don't mind me asking, when do you plan to CTB?

I am planning to ctb within nuext 10 days.
To be honest I would't be risking taking diphenhydramine and just go and try without it. There are reports of people being successfull without antimetics.

Also if you want to use it as sleeping/relaxing agent, it doesn't work this way. Single dose of 50mg is recommended as sleep aid but personally it never helped me with insomnia. If you OD diphenhydramine it has opposite effect it will stimulate you to stay awake.

But I would say do as much research as you can.

Recently I found one pharmacy online which sells domperidone ( or whatever its called) which is on the list of antimetics. You have to go through consultation with online doctor first but if you research enough what it is used for you might have easier time lying to online doc rather then your GP.

p.s. after consuming 2000mg of diphenhydramine in one go I had to stop drinking alkohol cause every sip made me nauseated so it can pottentialy make your taste buds sensitive and lead to vomiting.

I hope this helps little bit.

Thanks. I don't think online consultants will do much since I don't have that much time but I'm gonna continue researching. I'm just scared because I've come across people saying that antiemetics are essential and that you can fail without them due to throwing up :(

I know you say you don't have much time, but if you're willing to give it a try, try telling your GP that you've been throwing up after being driven for long periods of time, while also doing the techniques listed in this link (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/motion-sickness/) and that they don't work. Hopefully they'll prescribe you antiemetics because sometimes they'll give you medication for curing motion sickness.

Admittedly I don't know if that will work, it's something I've suggested to others a few times before. If you do try it, I'd be interested to know if it works.

I've had difficulty getting anti emetics .. I'm probably going to use Buccastem which you can get over the counter in the pharmacy - it's for migraines. I don't know if it will be good enough and need to do more research but this is what I plan on using, it doesn't have side effects like meto / domperidone do

I'm from the UK, so is it the same? Will I be able to get it OTC here?

You can get it over the counter, but you have to actually go to the counter and ask for it, say it's for migraines.. from the research I've done I think it should be ok but it's up to you - you should probably look into it yourself. It works in a similar way to meto but it's not the same. I'm terrified of meto so I'm taking a chance.
