  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Myths/Pet peeves-- usually well intentioned.

#1. There is surely some kind of cure! Keep looking. Keep trying!

Answer. No. There is not always a cure/ Solution. There are hard limits to what is realistically possible in this universe. Otherwise no one would ever die of cancer/accidents and everyone would be immortal. There is no reason to think we live in a fantasy universe where anything is likely to happen at any time. Wishful thinking.

Answer #2 . It doesn't matter even if there is some kind of cure. What if someone doesn't have the strength or will to keep going? It's not always about whether the battle can be won or not, it's about whether or not the person has the will to fight. If life is nothing but a battle and struggle, what a shitty thing that is Imo. The only thing that matters is how the individual feels and desires for themselves. Maybe they are simply tired of fighting. That's completely understandable considering the difficulty of life.

I talked about this today. My bf believes there must be something that can be done. Meds, therapy, anything. I have suffered since the age of 11. I had good and bad days, but mostly just bad ones. I never get a break, my head is wrecking any glimpse of a future. Only reason I'm still around is the guilt of leaving loved ones behind. Such a stupid struggle.

I find this type of realistic thinking grounding and comforting.

I'd like to add that happiness is not a static state and the constant pursuit of it, ironically, will only cause unhappiness.

Also sociologically not everyone is meant to be happy.

This evil thing we call society is built on winners and losers. There has to be losers for there to be winners. People have to suffer so that others prosper. We are pitted against each other from a young age. School exam boundaries are altered so only a certain amount achieve certain grades - no matter how smart the next generations will grow the system is designed to divide them up each year to varying levels of success and failure. People are doomed to to be unhappy even.

In many cases, sadly there truly isn't anything that can be done. People just refuse to accept the truth because they don't want to lose someone.

Survival of the fittest, not the survival of everyone. Truly a heartless system.

Yes, the truth is, in this life sometimes things are hopeless and there is nothing you can do to help. Life is very unfair and there is unlimited potential for suffering. Everything is determined by luck and chance and many people are disadvantaged through no fault of their own. People who have not suffered in similar ways would never be able to comprehend what it is like. The fact that many people have not suffered as much, means they are in a position where they are able to hold these delusional beliefs, that there is always a solution.
Of course life is very difficult. It is cruel expecting people to suffer for decades, after all it is our life, our decision and we have the right to exit at a time of our choosing. Nobody else has any say in it.

For me this is the biggest thing, really. I simply don't want go on. Life in this world is not for me. I don't want to work soul-sucking job for hours on end just to barely make enough money to live a life I don't want to live. I have no ability to pursue my interests or former passions. I don't have anything to strive for or look forward to. Life for me is nothing but pain and struggle with almost nothing to offer outside of that, only temporary distractions that take too much effort to maintain.

Yep, it's impossible for everyone to be happy, there's 7.7 billion people in this world and were meant to believe that each and every one can be happy with this existence, rubbish.
