  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Have you ever known or knew of someone who seemed to be a happy, hard core normie ctb? Everyone I've known off who did it had at least one issue.

It would take a lot. They're basically anime characters that "believe in themselves" and "never give up", high psychoticism. The pursuit of genetic interests is wholly unquestioned and leaves them with a rigid and stable outer framework, still allowing for extreme adaptation and coping on the interior. Thinking is, of course, outsourced to the nth degree and things that go against the genetic instinct are easily dismissed without further investigation. There will almost always be a facade of rationality/calm/observing/understanding until the topic of conversation challenges "established" values, free will or a number of adaptive delusions.

To these people life is a game of genetic success; there are winners and losers, and they can tell who is who. The ad hominem, the argument from popularity, or the appeal to false authority, is never far away in their minds--but is often very far away from their lips. Instead of a bad reply you will get silence and unfounded judgement, made to attack in groups they will rarely engage 1 on 1. When outmatched they will not concede, but rather leave, relying on their faulty reasoning to do away with threats to their vital mental frameworks. The empty, cold stare of dismissive genetic calculation is something most terrifying.

Wow, I'm really cringey today. Woke up at 3pm. :ahhha:

Plenty of US military members who ctb present as 100% normie. They are very good at wearing a mask in public and private, even with their families and closest friends. They have to be, because if they are suspected to be suicidal, it will immediately and permanently derail their careers.

My first gf committed suicide without being openly depressed or anything, but we were also like 14 so I assume it was just like....impulsive teenage emotion stuff? Aside from that, I've known one family member who may have ODed on purpose but no one really knows, so it got put down as accidental OD.

There are plenty of non-depressed, happy people who CTB.

It's called impulsive suicide. Everything would be normal and they would lead happy lives, but one day, something might go wrong. And they catch the bus based on the event(s) of that day alone.

For example, in societies where there is great pressure on children to succeed academically, a teen might CTB if he/she failed an exam or something like that.

In some societies, a young couple may be happily in love with each other, but their parents may not approve of the relationship and try to end it, so the happy young couple may decide to CTB together.

There are many more examples like these.

Imagine deciding to ctb and attempt on the same day, and fucking succeed. The joys of owning a firearm I guess??

Unfortunately, access to a firearm is very difficult in many countries. But it's very, very easy in the USA. I envy Americans for their precious 2nd Amendment!

A firearm isn't the only method used in impulsive suicides. Other methods are hanging, jumping, train, drowning, pesticide and so on.

think I read somewhere that half of all suicides (not really sure completed or attempts) are done by those without a MH diagnosis (again not sure if postmortem diagnosing count or not).

quite a lot of people willingly die for honor and shit. or, consequences in life they truly can't take. I once said that people lose the resources they need for life, only then do they go under.

it's impossible not to despair though, when one is under such circumstances. but it's reactive, instead of being at cause.

and I can fake a happy face really damn well. people seldom know us or our stories. whatever ways someone presents themselves is not a confession of how they really are.

It's understandable that most people will show no real signs, society doesn't like it when we look depressed. When I go in to work today, it's gonna be all smiles until I go home. No one needs to know anyway.
