  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

From what I can tell, downstream of "clover polemics" the concept of "normie sadism" has been aped to death, even outside of Winthropian castigation... I'm curious to hear anyone's thoughts on normie sadism as a phenomenon, whether they'd been subject to it themselves or witnessed it from afar.

Even when I was in school, sadism arose from general schoolmasterishness and the use of a wooden cane to discipline children; other times forcing us to squat against a wall until our legs bowed, or until we stopped crying hot tears. The presence of "schoolwise regimentation" extends to all spheres of public life, it seems, or outwards from some core assembly of natural characteristics which were "once put together wrong, never again." It is only when the presence of the public and private personality are treated as undifferentiated that "normie sadism" has its strongest foothold. The absence of all that is good in the name of conformism.

I've had, from the time in which I first suffered my first blow from "normies", recurrent nightmares, in which I've descended into sadistic impulses, neuroses, and strangled whimpers, all of which die down after some time, the only thought remaining being the indominable fear that some never grew out of these "feelings", that all people "resembled eachother" in some way, and hence reflected all that was ugly and impure about the world. I call it "ugliness" not out of some vaguely moralistic slant, but as sincere condemnation of the "eugenic" dogmatism of the normie, which at its core is worse than folklorist moralism. I do not respect the morals of the watchguard.

Any thoughts?

In general, people tend to be quite tribal. If they form a group, with a common identity, us vs them mentality is inevitable. This is even more so if the group's form of showing allegiance is through identity rather than actions. In my experience this happens to everyone, so it isn't really a normie thing. Even an autist will show tribal thinking in the proper context.

In grade school someone lightly kicked a popular boy in the shin for butting in the lunch line. After lunch nearly the entire class of maybe 50 people closed in on him even the girls and except for the guy he actually kicked. It was normie mob sadism.

I'm referring to "culturally-sanctioned" forms of sadism, which arise from a uniquely "normie" tendency of throwing contumely on aspects of the "private/inward life" which are unfortunately subject to public moral displays. I think this applies to autists as well, and if so then they are likely "failed normies" in a sense.

"Rapists themselves need to be raped in prison", "pedophiles need to be castrated", tough love displays, "there should be holocausts for 'neo-yahtzees'", justification for bullying qua Social Darwinism, the middle-aged KiwiFarm groupthinkists that view lolcows as chattel (or they feel "justified" in milking out these bottom-feeders, which isn't to say that lolcows don't reap what they sow but that "moral justification" is given concrete application, where some things are just "off-limits bro"), taste-of-their-own-medicine or eye-for-an-eye arguments in general, etc., and these I don't consider consequences of anonymity leading to "exaggerated, transgressive" beliefs since, as I said before, these are "culturally-sanctioned", all "normgroid" takes.
