Hard agree. So what OS' are you using and why?

I'm using Mint but I'm looking at Arch so I can be a tryhard ricer.

I used arch for more than 10 years (more than 10 years... time has passed...), but now I'm too tired of everything and just using ubuntu with all the defaults

Most linux distros are good, stay away from ios, android and windows, if android is needed, try to get graphene os
All non open source and popular os will most likely have "security flaws" aka backdoors, Microsoft, google, apple, all of them are involved into nsa stuffs and spying. If you're very paranoid, dont search for hardware based backdoors like for intel me driver, etc.
If you're just trying to plan your ctb, most gov. wont even care though

I've been looking at Graphene but I don't think it's compatible with my handset.

I've shut out big tech as much as I can, it isn't anything to do with ctb and I don't have anything to hide, it's the entire principle of the thing.

I don't completely object to backdoors if you're investigating terrorists or paedophiles but I do object to billionaires only 'elected' by wallet going through my shit. This is my little bit of rebellion, I guess. That and I want the superior level of customisation that you don't get with proprietary shit anymore.

I installed Linux Mint on a spare laptop yesterday. Two days ago I reinstalled windows on another laptop and a cuckafee bloatware decided to come with it. I tried uninstalling it but it's been stuck halfway ever since.

Apparently, you can not move the taskbar to the sides in Windows 11. I prefer side taskbars because many websites leave the sides empty due to mobile users. It might not be a big deal to the target audience who has 40 inch monitors, but I don't have 40 inch monitors.
