Life can be great for some but even then it ends. I'm sitting here typing this hoping to get a social connection with someone on this forum but eventually, no matter how well this post is written, it'll all be washed away.

The problem with life being meaningless is that the bullshit you have to endure makes it worth even less. You're going to die in the end so what's the point? Why not just "cut your losses".

Humans say we are the smartest animal but in all honesty, we really have it the worst of both worlds. We have consciousness at a level which makes us uniquely aware of the horrors of existence (and even conjure up imaginary ones with the fear of an eternal hell, a concept we can't understand yet fear). However this is completely useless because we are still slaves to our biological desires (sexual desire, sex differences, intelligence) which actually makes me prefer to any other animal in the animal kingdom, predator or prey.

This is particularly obvious when it comes to suicide. For all the amount of touting that humans give themselves for being able to be rational, we can't allow someone to kill themselves because we of evolutionary adaptation to avoid death and the death of others (some can but most don't). Just a bunch of B.S.

I don't care if someone calls me "selfish/whiny/lazy/entitled/childish/immature". They can call me all the names in the book but in reality, I know for myself this life isn't worth it. People will greatly condemn your suicide IRL and online but they will not put a SINGLE cent in paying your rent, food, luxuries. They can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

I don't doubt that life can be spectacular for some people but unfortunately for me, that isn't the case. I'm about to be homeless and no one will give me even the most basic minimum wage job. People have signs in life that something is going right whereas I have the opposite. This is a sign that I have to give up.

I support your decision and I agree with what you said against the stupid humans. Yeah we have the worst of both worlds, I wouldn't say it better.

It's alot easier not to go through the act of suicide than to go through with the act of suicide so it's bizarre to call it the easy way out.

If suicide was the easy way out everyone would be doing it.

Indeed. Seems to be far easier to just run with the herd, take orders and anything else coming your way because "life is a gift".

I wish I wasn't such a coward about life. Actually I'm more afraid of living than not living. Killing your self is in many ways the easier way out but it's just a tough decision to make. It really is a miracle that any of us are here. Millions of years of evolution brought us to this point. However this doesn't make it seem like a gift when you can't get any traction in your life and u feel trapped in a bad life.

I usually consider it a curse and I think I had very bad luck being here.

The chances were low, extremely low, but here we are anyway.

Should we consider ourselves lucky just because chances were low?

The way I see it humans want to feel like theyre special in some way, thats were the "odds from coming into existence being rare" narrative comes from, the truth is no one says about the odds of a dog or a cat coming into existence to be rare because it just happens, same with us, I don't think were lucky or anything like that, we're just another animal

We are special in the way that we've consciously burned more of the world than any other species (first wood for cooking and drawing out prey then wood for metals and other things then eventually fossil fuels).

You'd be hard-pressed to find a species consisting of obsessive pyromaniacs like us ^_^

There's nothing wrong with not wanting to suffer. In fact, it's the only sane way to think.

Sorry about what you are going through. A decent society would care for those who are struggling.

I find it hilarious when people refer to suicide as the "easy way out". If there were as many successful suicides as attempts, we'd be at a significant global population decline. Every statistic will tell you that if you want to commit suicide—the odds are against you.

Even more hilarious are the people who actively wish for hardships to "prove themselves". How in the world did we become so masochistic? The urge to end sustained suffering is a logical thought process. Unfortunately, even hinting at it will get you shamed.

I agree that life is essentially meaningless, we will all die and be forgotten. Therefore all our suffering is for the sake of it. In this life there is also unlimited potential of how much we can suffer, which is why I see the right to die as important. I appreciate that life can be good for some people but certainly not for many others. We should be able to decide if our lives are worth living and if not end it in a peaceful dignified way. It is not selfish in the slightest to ctb, it isn't like we asked to be born in the first place so we have no obligation to stay alive. It is not the easy way out, as it is hard to take our own lives. Some people just do not want to suffer anymore.
