Hello everyone. :)

I was wondering if anyone hopefully maybe had the answer to this. And knew how the nitrogen flow of 40 min will kill. If the person stops breathing before that, and the regulator stops automatically when the person stops breathing.
Hope everyone is doing as good as it gets and maybe someone has the answer to this.

The recommended flow is 15 Lpm. It takes less than 10 min to die... But...to be safe: it shouldn't take more than 20 min to die.

If the person stops breathing before that, and the regulator stops automatically when the person stops breathing.
The regulator won't stop automatically. It will only stop when all of the the gas in the cylinder is depleted.

Death occurs usually between 10-15 min when using any of the inert methods, that if nothing goes wrong. The 40 min of recommended gas flow is for ensuring death.

For exit bag/hood method the regulator will continue to flow inert gas until it runs out regardless of the persons ability to breathe.

Scuba/scba I'm not sure as it works with an on demand regulator, when the person stops breathing it should stop providing inert gas. Gasmonkey setup suggest taping over the low pressure whistle which would suggest the inert gas will eventually run out.

This may be a stupid question but how does the hood not expand and fly off if the gas is constantly flowing? Where does it go, Is the bag not air tight then? If so won't oxygen get in the bag? Any answers to this would be great!

No worries that's a legitimate question. If you look at the design of the bag you will notice the elastic around the neck will allow it to flex and allow the nitrogen to flow out.

Since the nitrogen inside the bag is constantly flowing it build's overpressure and flows out from the neck, which also stops the incoming air.
