I had a nurse practitioner take me off of it bc he said it caused diabetes.
It made me feel like a fucking zombie. Also made me ravenous. I'm on lamictal now, but it doesn't seem much better. I'm tempted to just stop traditional psych meds altogether.

I had muscle problems. Sometimes I thought it would give me a heart attack.

5. They made me take a big amount (30 mg / day), and I couldn't stop taking it because it was an injection. Inability to speak, slower thoughts... good thing I stopped going.

I was just scrolling through all the Snapchat news stories and saw that the FDA just approved "Esketamine" which is essentially clinical Ketamine in the form of a nasal spray, that supposedly works on a different brain chemical known as Glutamate, and the effects are almost instantaneous, in just a few hours, rather than waiting for weeks to months to kick in like traditional antidepressants. Just thought I'd post this news if any of you are here solely due to symptoms of depression, without any external cause.

Can you get it by the gallon?

Me too, inability to speak and sluggish thought processes. Only thing that keeps me sane tho, and better than Olanzapine.

Anyone think it affects sexual function?

Yeah I've known about ketamine for a while now. I snorted it before. I went into the K-hole. Good shit, just don't use it more than about once a month.

Look up NSI-189 which also looks very promising for depression - threads on Reddit. I just posted other novel treatments for depression too - so check my post.

Ketamine - I tried sniffing it at home......probably not as good as an infusion. My jury is out as to whether it helped too much - but I've watched documentaries where it helped people a LOT.

You can also look for 5-MEO-DMT. Again, helped me for maybe an hour, but for some it cures them ;)

I recommend Tianeptine myself - can be addictive, so handle carefully. Kratom doesn't work for me - but also worth checking out.
My post on novel treatments - is the recovery thread of the forum...in case anyone wants to read it.

Yeah they said in this case, the benefits would clearly outweigh the risks, and I agree with them...lol.
I heard some people micro-dose and it works for them... (taking a tiny amount, way smaller than the recommended starting dose).

Taking hardcore party drugs like Ketamine get your depression gone asap and than you generally relapse!! It's incredible!! Nah it's just common sense, it works the same way a lot of old drugs/ECT do. It causes brain damage, which gives you euphoria and changes your mental state temporarily.

Is there any risk of developing Olney's lesions if something like dxm is used moderately? An article I was reading (https://wiki.tripsit.me/wiki/DXM) recommends that you take a break of at least 1 week per plateau between doses. Is there any risk of damage if I use it in this way?
I'm not sure Olney's lesions were ever proven to occur in humans.

I don't think they have yet. I've stopped using DXM now simply because it makes me puke. DXM's antidepressant effects last a couple days at best for me. I have no idea if I would fare any better with ketamine, but ketamine is out of my reach.

I used nsi-189 for probably a year total. I probably got 90% of the good effects in the first three months. For one, it totally got rid of any rumination. I was constantly thinking the same negative thoughts for weeks at a time, and those went away within a month of taking it. That was a permanent effect.

I also was very creative and eloquent while taking it.

The downside is that I now get nerve tingling within a month of taking it. So I can't keep taking it.

You can get nsi-189 at science.bio now, they are a reputable source. Which is nice because there was no reputable source for a while.

Sadly now, rather than my depression and suffering being centered around thoughts, lately I've just had horrid whole body aching and similar terrible sensations, sort of feeling like pure suffering. It comes in waves and I just have to endure it.

Ketamine treatment seems to me to treat depression through creating disssociation.

Temporary fix to distance from the pain. What would be the difference from using, say, opioids?

You're not using the sorbitol cough syrup are you? DXM didn't actually make me that sick without shitty sorbitol. IMO the antidepressant effect of any psychedelic or dissociative just ends once the afterglow is done, perhaps it works better in a theraputic controlled environment.

Sorbitol syrup (delsym) gave me diarrhea. I puked once on gels. I figured I'd try robocough since it didn't have a lot of the additives in other products, but I puked every time I took that shit. The antidepressant effect ended with the afterglow for me too. I once took two large doses only a couple days apart and it put me in a somewhat manic and psychotic state with a nice antidepressant effect for 3-4 days after the psychotic elements subsided.

Me as well. That stuff sucked. Nothing like the commercial. lol I wasn't actually expecting it. The psych drugs that didn't either do nothing, feel horrible, or awful rebound effects have been alpha agonists, in my experience.
