Help New member requirements?? Search bar??

Anyone know if new members are able to use the search bar??? Bc somones jus asking me about it, they just made
An acc,
They are unable to use the search bar and the search option doesn't seem to be appearing on there's, if your willing to share here or pm me about the requirements in order to use the functions on here

Yes, you must have a minimum amount of posts for the search bar to be available. And also private messaging, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, new users need to 5 replies/post. To use a lot of different functions in this site it seems

I just joined recently and assumed its kind of like a test to ensure the people here to really consider the decision instead of spur of the moment when they are spiraling. Also could be to avoid people who are not here for the right reasons to search for people to take advantage of.

I also see it as arbitrary, especially since you can search the website (even without an account) by filtering google searches to only show results from the site. Imo, all it does is lead to so many repeated questions in the forum
