new fear unlocked Looking for methods and so on, I really wasn't afraid of death.
but reviewing the topics on the page and about the failed attempts in addition to fail and becoming a vegetable or not being able to take care of myself.
Now I am afraid of failing, which would be even worse than continuing my life, no matter how miserable it is. At least I am functional mentally and physically. I find it ironic
and know that people who posted here for the last time are still alive with machines in a hospital or can no longer even use a cell phone or talk due to motor loss.

Most reliable methods are successful if you make sure that you're not found too early. Imo most cases of failed attempts happen due to being found to early - and this is sth that can be easily avoided by not doing it in a place where others can disturb.

"Kindly allow me to help you and stop struggling or else you will surely drown,
said the monkey, to the fish, whilst putting it safely up a tree."

How ironic that people wanting to help a dying person end up dooming them to a lifetime of indignity...
Wow I am feeling blue today.

Thank you for pointing out this danger.

I have read others where fail because there a issue in the device , dose etc

And quoting others not Even a Shotgun is 100%

But yeah I got Your point. But for me aswell You have to acknowledge the Risk of failling too

Just venting My thoughts

I also have the fear of failing, you're not alone. Failing would be the worst that ever could happen let alone the shame. I feel you.

Trying to die going wrong is exactly what I fear as well, it sounds so incredibly horrific to end up suffering way more unbearably, for me it's just so devastating how I cannot just have the option to painlessly die with no risks involved, all I wish for is a death like never waking again, it's so incredibly cruel how people even have to fear this in the first place.

I didn't know that people who posted here are still alive on machines or can't talk or use a phone. How do you know this?

This is where research and planning come into play. Do not trust on hope to get you through this. Ask questions if you have any specific worries.

Becoming disabled or paralyzed would be horrible. I'm not afraid of becoming a vegetable though. If your body is alive, but no personality inhabits it anymore, it's kind of mission accomplished, isn't it?

I mean You can look for how many suicide fails end with people as vegetable, or loss all movility . Because if You fail , Alive but with brain damage .

And loosing any chance for next try. because You cant Even eat for yourself and use dipers the rest of Your life.

Thats My fear
Well I think the following
Besides the Risk of prostrate in a wheelchair, drooling and be a burden on my family

thinking about my family I want a certain death.
The other burden is My family spend years waiting for " to wake up" and instead having my death and the mourning. Be it agony for them and my body being maintained by machines instead of returning to the earth and being decomposed because the doctors don't let me die entirely . And that can take yeaaaarssss
and I don't know if you knew this In the series "The Intern" they mention that hospitals see people in comas, vegetables whatever, as a "gold mine" because they can charge for years. steady income
Because doctors can't let them die. human stupidity

My family would switch off the machine without a second thought. So I'm good.

One thing that can help in a small way is having a living will. You can state that you do not want life-continuing measures to be taken if you are in a position such as a coma, need an oxygen or feeding tube, etc.

As long as it's legally binding (so it would need to be notarized, follow requirements for whatever state, country you're in) it should be sufficient so that doctors won't prolong your suffering in certain situations

Failure is a healthy concern to have, that's why people here go to such great lengths to research everything to the hilt, test any products they may purchase, and look at similar cases with the same method.

I always wanted to do it with a shotgun with slugs or by train, laying my head on the rails and letting it severe my neck. Thats the two quickest methods and 100 % fatal if you don't flinch.

Is there a dedicated failed attempts thread or are you picking through individual posts? Please link if there's a mega thread.

Post from here from people who failed , You can check Google , fail attempts and how many end up that way too . So You know the Risk of fail is common so some had luck with no issues others no luck .

What I want to clear is that if You didnt go all the way . Brain damage Is another posibility that has to be considered that for me it be the worst
