hi, i hope you're all having an a good day (as good of a day as a member of this site can have hehe)

i'm just asking if any of you guys have any tips on remembering to eat and/or getting the motivation to eat. eating is such a hassle for me as my stomach is absolutely wrecked from anxiety, and im also wayy too depressed to gaf about nourishment, but i really need to try and eat more as it's been getting hard to do anything. recently i've been finding it hard to walk to my classes since i live on an awfully hilly campus and the physics building is an entire mile away from my fuck ass dorm, so i've been skipping as well due to lack of energy. one morning i couldn't move and had to awkwardly crawl across my home to get to the kitchen to get a snack since my legs wouldn't carry me, and i'm really nervous of that happening again because it was really awful.

if anyone has any tips and/or advice i'd really love to hear it. whether it be something u tell yourself to try and eat, or if you make a game of it, or whatever! i don't care if u think it sounds silly, please please please let me know :) i'm really wanting to recover even though i'm at the lowest part of my life right now and i'm just trying to make baby steps. thank u sososo much mwah

i used to do 3 smoothies a day to sip throughout the day. fruit, some leafy greens or veg (spinach, cauliflower), and even a bit of silken tofu or greek yogurt + milk for the base. you'll get a bit of protein and fat, a good amount of carbs for energy, and lots of nutrients. get berries so you dont have to cut or peel anything or frozen fruits. spinach and cauli you can just take chunks off with your bare hands. the silken tofus the biggest hassle so you might wanna stick to yogurt for your protein/thickener. or, ofc you could add actual protein powder, i just find them nasty.
if youre still low on cals, carry apple sauce packets, granola bars, or other small and easy to eat packs. mini packs of potato chips are good for your sodium + potassium (both very important electrolytes!). feel better 🫂

Unfortunately I'm not the best at giving advice for this. I'm only about 130 pounds at 6'1 or 6'2, and I had a health complication relating to my height and extreme low weight, I don't know if this will motivate you at all but basically, try to make sure you eat so you don't get health complications I don't know if that makes sense, I didn't eat and now it's to late and my body got cut open and stitched and it hurts, and I don't know if I'll even recover fully.

yes chia!! totally forgot about that but chia + sunflower + pumpkin seeds are easy toppings with tons of nutrients. tbh make sure you're getting enough protein and salt, those two are what cause a lot of weakness for me if i miss out for several consecutive days. sometimes i just put a random seasoning on a chicken breast and pan fry it, then dip it in ketchup like a really lazy, giant unbreaded chicken nugget. 20-30g protein and like 5 minutes of cook time

I'm honestly just gonna leave this YouTube channel here:

Here are my tips, though.

I'm malnutritioned, and for me the main three nutrients that help me are iron, fiber and protein. Fat and sugar to a lesser extent, but my body kinda almost went into ketosis a few times, so I definitely try to keep an okay healthy fat ratio. Fish, full fat dairy, lean meats, lots of beans, oatmeal, fruits/veg, these are what I can get down on most days.

Another thing that helps me is non-water liquids. Water fucks up my stomach on days where I don't eat enough, so I drink fortified whole milk, juice, or electrolyte drink. Water-heavy foods are also a life saver. Cucumber, watermelon, apples, strawberries, any melon, they all are fairly gentle on the stomach, but very useful to hydrate

To note: If your stomach is constantly bloated and acidic, there's actually a good chance that that is due to the lack of nutrients. It happens sometimes in those recovering from anorexia, basically your body is retaining waste (feces) in an attempt to sap all the extra nutrients it can from it to survive, but the longer waste stays in the body, the more gas it produces as it breaks down. At best, it causes you to feel very uncomfortable. And at worse, it can cause prolapses (especially if you have chronic illnesses or genetic disorders). Hydration is also important to mitigate this, and a lot of fiber, as I mentioned.

unfortunately i have a terrible sweet tooth :'3
Start microwaving quick-cook oatmeal with fruit. We use frozen fruit, microwave it separately until it gets gooey like a compote, and put it in the cooked oatmeal afterwards to avoid the fruit liquid making it too watery. This shit is SWEET, especially strawberries.

Also if you can afford nutrition shakes like Boost or Ensure (not just protein), they come in sweet flavors that you can put in smoothies or just drink as is.
