I plan to get a taxi to beachy head, it's 3 hours and I'm kind of worried about getting a dodgy driver who might try and do something to me but anyway when I get to beachy head is it better to do it at night? I might not be able to see where I'm jumping from and those patrol people might see me, or the taxi driver might report me or not take me there in the first place. The only other option is jumping off my balcony and that's 6 floors, I don't know if that would be high enough, what obviously beachy head is high enough.

I highly, highly doubt the taxi driver would care, although it would be more suspicious going at night. There is quite a lot of security, but not much they can do if you just run and jump for it, it's the ones who aren't totally sure and stand there for a while that raise suspicion. My biggest worry would be the cost of that taxi, ouch

Yeah but money won't matter if I'm dead lol. Do they have people looking out at night? I think it might be too dark for me to see where I'm going.

I'd probably order some fake plastic binoculars off Amazon to wear around my neck. I'd use them to get close to the edge. Pretend I'm looking at something as I get up the nerve.

If you're worried about the driver, pretend like you're texting friends about the ride. Tell him you're meeting them there and providing them an ETA.

Before I get in, I'd go around to look at the license plate. Snap a pic and if he really does try something you can say you've sent it to friends.

Have a story in case he wants to be chatty. At 3 hours, he probably will. It's someone's birthday and you guys are going to watch the sunrise there. Anything.

And no. Six stories likely wouldn't be good for much except broken bones and internal injuries.

I need to research cliffs over water in the US because they'd be a lot easier for me to "manage" as opposed to stopping on a narrow bridge and trying to jump quickly.

OMFG. I found one that's a little over 2 hours away. Much better than the 8+ plus hours it would take to get to my bridge. I'm not familiar with the area at all, so I have to scope it out somehow. But I'm near tears at the realization. All these years I've harbored hopes of jumping into water and I never entertained any other spots besides "my bridge."

I think day time late afternoon would be better ....could say going to meet friends at pub near cliffs...it gets dark soon after lunch anyway..

Taxi drivers have an alert system so that the patrol team and police are notified a passenger is heading up there and they have concerns. As does the pub.

That pub is popular and busy all the time. Taxis must take people there all the time. If it was me I'd just get a taxi to the pub then walk the short distance to the cliff. I can't see any questions would be asked about that.
