Apart of me wonders if gunshot survivors have had any near-death experiences. If not then it seems that a somewhat intact brain is required to experience the phenomenon.

My eyes are hurting and couldn't read all of these, will have to come back; but to me, these are all explained by the brain and it's protective/dissociative states etc. Similar to being on a psychoactive drug or being in a dreamlike state. People already have a preconceived visual of their death and it manifests in the face of death. Basically, I think these experiences are just synapses firing and neurons dyiing and producing anesthetic effects. I don't think spirituality, religion, or any part of the "afterlife" played a part in these ND experiences :/
But that's me.

How do you know for sure?
And it's hard to ask them afterwards, and if they survive then the brain recovers and they likely don't remember. All these ND are usually lack of oxygen and/or blood to the brain via OD, drowning, head trauma, stroke/heart attack, blood loss etc. You never hear the gun shot survivors from head wounds, so I think you're right about the brain.

(From research and my own personal belief)
(I don't know for sure what happens after death like everyone else but this is what I lean towards)

Don't go to the white light when you leave your body.

It's a trap to get you reincarnated back into another human life.

Float/fly away from the white light, even if you feel a sense of love and understanding. That's the point, that's how they get you sucked back into here.

Most people's lives are filled with loneliness, isolation, trauma. So when they are finally released from their body they feel this incredible, godly love. Something they never felt as a human.

Why do we need to go anywhere. Take matters into your own hands. Don't be forced to go or agree to anything. DO NOT BOW TO ANY PERCEIVED AUTHORITY.

Tell any entities, angels or dead relatives who try and get you to go here or there fu k off!

In terms of how you move around once you leave the body it's often reported similar to OBE (out of body experiences)/Lucid Dreaming or Astral Projection.

If you want to read more about this theory of forced reincarnation after death look into:
Gnosticism
Prison Planet Theory
Soul Trap Theory
Loosh
Children remembering their past lives
Near death experiences

Some videos to watch:

(Brief overview of the theory)

(Quick video on the theory with an escape plan at death a must watch!)

(Interview with a gentleman who's been researching this kind of information for decades, he's written some interesting books about reality and has a great channel on YouTube)

Soul trap/LOOSH Concept alluded in movies and TV:

(Matrix 1) Morpheus Explaining energy harvesting to Neo

(Star Trek Voyager) Janeway's encounter with an archon who is trying to get her soul to follow him, poses as her father to trick her.

Joe Gardner falls into a manhole cover dies and then finds himself in the afterlife state. He is shown a massive ball/white light with a road/tunnel guiding him to go that way. Other souls around him seem very dopey and seemingly just following the group.

(Brett Stuart a remote viewer who investigates the after death state using his team of remote viewers who are blind to the topic)

That could just be our subjective experience.

There could be a truth that is beyond us to perceive and understand.

In relation to this thread, I've seen experience like the ones in the OP reported when people are high on DMT and they see the true nature of everything like we are all one or nothingness and everything is infinite love.

I think there could easily be 20 cases, if not even more, of people just on this website telling us how they blacked out after a failed suicide attempt, and simply woke up later when either being handled by paramedics or lying in a hospital bed. And all such cases combined in the entire world would easily win over all near death experience cases. I simply do not believe in them being real in any way other than that those people's brains did experience them.

When I broke my neck and was in a coma for 72 hours as a young child, what I told everyone about what I saw aligns closely with this. Floating above the body and seeing someone trying to bring it back to life. Not caring about it any more than anything else in the scene. Not connected to it. Then floating away from it into the light. And later hearing "it's not your time yet" before waking up in hospital.

I can't recall it any more. It was almost 40 years ago. All that's left is what I told people. It stuck with my Mum the best, because I mentioned seeing the police officer's bald patch from above and the position of the car on the bridge, neither of which she could explain any other way. It is fascinating now reading the same thing over and over again in NDEs, and seemingly reported by most of these people too. I'm looking forward to going back there.

are you asking if there is an afterlife? out all the failed attempts over the years, there must more more than 20. i don't believe any of it. keep in mind that those who have tried may not be all that stable.

Jesus Christ, you are lying, where did you find this??? Absolute misinformation! Did you ask ChatGPT? These were not suicides at all. What you listed here are mainly accidents and disease. Clearly you know nothing about this topic and making up things. Anita Moorjani died from stage 4 cancer and complete organ failure, Mary Neal died by a kayak accident and being underwater for longer than 15 minutes, Eben Alexander died from an infection to his brain, Jeff Olsen died by a car accident where he lost his wife and one of his children, Pam Reynolds died during an operation to her brain during which they had to drain all her blood from her body, stop both her heart and brain and lower her body temperature.
Tricia died from a fatal car accident.

This is interesting. I believe the feelings of love, acceptance, hope, and connection are probably related to the rush of serotonin and endorphins that are released in your brain when you are dying.

Like we don't have enough lies on the internet. These are not suicide attempts. If ChatGPT fed you this, then f**ing own it, say it was bullshit created by ChatGPT, instead of saying that "you searched". You searched nothing. These are people dying from car accidents, cancer and operations
And just to make it clear, I think NDEs are fascinating and worthy of research and investigating. But common, since when stage 4 cancer and complete organ failure is considered a suicide??? LIES LIES LIES
Shame on you!

NDEs are my special interest and I have studied thousands of them in 4 different languages. The ones listed by OP are quite well known globally as many of them wrote a book about their NDE. There are actually real suicide NDEs, they do exist, but the OP did not bother to make a list of those. In any case, there are no distinguishable difference between an NDE from injury or disease or suicide. The reports are very similar regardless of the cause of death.
I think OP probably used ChatGPT or something similar which is problematic for two reasons. ChatGPT doesn't yet have the product maturity to be trusted as a valid source of information without verifying. Second, when you use AI, you have to say it was AI, not you. Basic protocol and curtesy. There was a guy on Reddit that said he had draw a picture, turns out AI draw the picture and many people on Reddit were upset that he took credit. We now live in a world where AI can draw, make stories, movies, fake news, fake phone calls, fake someone's voice or face. We have to say when something was created by AI.

Those people never actually died, so what am I supposed to learn from their experiences? A 'near-death' experience means nothing because they were still alive at that moment. Therefore, it makes no sense to discuss this in my opinion.

Those people never *died*, what am I supposed to learn here? A "near" death experience means nothing because you're still alive at that moment so it makes no sense to make any discussion out of this imo.
Pam Reynolds was really clinically dead by all measures that we currently use to establish death. If you read her story, you will see that they had to stop her brain and heart, drain her blood and cool her body, in order to be able to do the operation. Unless your definition of death is a rotting corpse, in her case, she was really dead, no brain waves measured and no heart beat, no ciculation and a chilled body to 15C/ 60F.
But think whatever you want

Pam Reynolds was not actually dead in the permanent, biological sense. She was in a state of clinical death, where her heart and brain activity were stopped temporarily and then successfully restarted as part of a controlled medical procedure. Biological death, which is irreversible, never occurred in her case.

ok now ask another 20 people and you will get this answer:

"nothing happened man, just like being a coma, woke up and I'm pain again... please kill me!!!"
This was my experience with it. Had the worst drug-induced hallucination then went into a coma for 2 weeks and woke up like no time had passed and I was on life support and all that. Was "clinically" dead for several minutes too. But that just usually means the heart is no longer beating but the heart still has to be in a state where it can be brought back into an optimal cardiac state.

An AED analyzes the chaotic heartbeat and sends a shock into the body only if it reads a shockable rhythm (fibrillation). This shock attempts to kickstart the heart to its normal rhythm. Sometimes it may take one shock, other times it may a few, but the key is to keep going and not stop until help arrives! If the person's heart cannot be restored and not enough oxygen is given to the brain, then sadly they will flatline and death is the result. It is at this point that an AED will no longer work.

To answer the big question of whether AEDs can bring people back to life, the answer is, unfortunately, no. The only reason it 'appears' that an AED brings someone back to life is that individuals suffering a cardiac arrest are not breathing and are unconscious without a pulse, making them appear lifeless. But they are still alive! When an AED is used at this point, it will 'de-fibrillate' the heart into a normal rhythm, sending oxygen to the brain and body once again, and saving their life!

Brain death on the other hand is the end of life completely.

anyone who believes they live on after death aren't aware that they are just a machine made up of 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms
once you die that's the end of you
You can't read those NDE's and say something like that. Those aren't even all suicide related NDE's, much less all non-suicide NDE's (which are thousands).

Besides, "mechanical atoms" (who knows what atoms really are this point) don't really think, question, or feel, or are even conscious.

Can an insentient machine even do any of that? AI can seemingly do but it just mimics.

The point is that she had no brain activity. No brain activity means no hallucination. As hallucination is the most common argument to explain these accounts. And I did say clinical death, didn't I? In any case, people that do not find worthy of research and contemplation an NDE of someone who has no brain activity, eyes covered and ears even covered with molded speakers, no blood circulating, no heart beat, cannot see or hear, the brain doesn't show any activity, they are cooled down to 15 celsius and yet they describe the operation in very detailed and specific way, including unexpected turns of events that occurred during the operation that they had no knowledge of, or non-typical surgical instruments they have not seen, if someone discards this as "oh, well, they were not yet an actual corpse", then I don't have interest in talking to those people as it is clear they operate out of bias, prejudice and not from scientific curiosity. You don't have to be pro or against something like this but at least one should remain curious. To me, religious people and atheists are almost the same, they have rigid structured views and they feel attacked when something does not align with their narrative, their bias, their prejudice. Atheists think they somehow above religious people with their wisdom and knowledge but I find them very similar, they run on the same spectrum. To be scientific minded you have to remain curious and open. To say that someone who is clinically dead and have no brain activity does not provide clues about anything worthy of investigation or a closer look, belongs to the spectrum of people I decline to take seriously.

I am open and curious about discussions. Also, I don't believe anyone is above another based on their beliefs or knowledge. If my previous post came across as prejudiced, that was not my intention.

There simply isn't concrete, objective evidence that definitively proves Pam Reynolds' NDE experience as true. Her case is primarily documented through testimonies, medical records, and her own accounts.
