National Muffin Day, for people living in the USA, is February 20, but I've noticed that not a lot of people know about National Muffin Day. What's even worse, there is no World Muffin Day, and apparently muffins made outside of the US are not the same as American muffins. I had never realized that muffins (as a concept) weren't as widespread, and that there were different kinds of muffins in different places. I just assumed everyone ate american muffins. To be honest with you, it somewhat saddens me that we don't celebrate holidays like National Muffin Day, and that there is no World Muffin Day. People scoff at things like these as fabricated holidays or marketing ploys by the muffin manufacturers to induce muffin demand, but I think they are an opportunity to do things that would otherwise be seen as weird. When else would you bake a batch of muffins for your friends, unless it is on National Muffin Day?
