I'm planning on taking SN at some point over the next week or so. My biggest concern is waking up or it taking a long time to pass out and panicking.

I have meto and would plan to start taking it a couple of days before, as per the megathread. I would fast for 4-8 hours beforehand.

I live alone so there is no chance I would be interrupted.

I do not have any ranitidine but have PPIs - would these work? I could buy ranitidine if it would make it less painful/more efficient.

Can I take sedatives beforehand? I have clonazepam and strong prescription sleeping pills. I want to be as out of it as possible.

I'm emetophobic but my desire to die overrides my fear of vomiting. Hopefully I won't vomit, or not much at least.

I don't have any beta blockers and my resting heart rate is quite high. Is this going to be a problem?

Is this really a reliable way to die? There's so much about it here but how many people actually succeed with this method? With respect, do people really know what they're talking about? I apologise if this comes across as offensive but I just don't know what to believe. I can't fail another attempt. My SI is too high to jump or step in front of a train.

Thank you.

No need.

Antacids & Regulators
Do I need those? No. The least significant part of SN [1]
  • Effectiveness is questionable.
  • Many use them as considered widely-available, not dangerous, and common practice.
  • Can be skipped.
Why PPI not a solution?May interfere with SN effects -- according research [1] [2]

More in FAQ .

Can I take sedatives beforehand? I have clonazepam
You should take sedatives before. Otherwise it's useless. Did you read Stan's guide? Make trials first -- when you're relaxed, when you're incapacitated. Same info in the FAQ .

I don't have any beta blockers and my resting heart rate is quite high. Is this going to be a problem?
Guess what? Read FAQ :)

Is this really a reliable way to die?
And then again:
https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/sn-faq-storage-recovery-death.29714/
And documented cases & fatalities:
  • Members testimonials -- detailed
  • Members + patient cases -- summary)

As always Stan's Guide precedes everything, and he had actually answered these questions there.

@ghostspace I have read that but, with respect, I don't really know who Stan is or his level of expertise on the subject. Forgive me for this, but sometimes I wonder why all the people advising others on how to use SN haven't gone through with it themselves, or how they know so much about it having never experienced it.

@Stan has already passed using SN?

He did extensive research and compiled knowledge from SS and internet. Of course you are welcome not to use any compilations and do research from scratch...

There are also a lot of realtime farewell threads using SN to assist you.

Right, OK. Thanks. My head is all over the place at the moment and there's so much to take in. I want to get it right. I'm just bloody terrified it's not going to work and I'm going to end up permanently blue and sectioned on a psych ward.

That's fair. Stan, from what I've collected in my time here, basically wrote the SN bible.

There are many threads about attempts, both successful and failed, by users here. Several people kept messaging with a friend through their experience, and I know at least one person video chatted and confirmed the user's death and experience.

I haven't gone through with it myself because I don't want to CTB for another couple years. I want to have a solid, well thought-through plan that I can feel at peace with when the time comes.

Instead of saying "I don't trust this" , why not research it?

His level is high and I don't like the fact you throw speculations without bothering to do some work.

The answers you get here on this thread -- do you know the respondents level of expertise?.... Bit absurd arguments my dear  With all do respect.

Let's research first , then come to conclusions .

Sorry for being harsh (but that was disrespectful to hard honest work that had been done here ...... )

anyone who has their username crossed out has CTB (or been banned, but more likely CTB)
No, this is not true. Users are banned for any number of reasons, a crossed out name does not mean CTB.

Hey, it's okay. Give yourself space and time to get your head together; that's what many of us are doing on here as well. Do your research and reading—I definitely recommend reading goodbye threads—and you'll feel much more informed and prepared.

If that is the case I apologize for my comment  I understand you are very anxious , and write under distress . Sorry for that experience and situation

I'd suggest taking a step back , and taking things day at a time .. You can always ctb . You have that option . It's cool . Read things calmly . And sharing with us how you feel , what you're going through , etc . Feel free :)

Thanks @Quarky00 - I realise my comment was off. I'm struggling to articulate things or think clearly at the moment as I'm severely depressed. Worst episode in a long time (bipolar).

Open a thread about it (or keep writing here) . Tell us what's going on . Did something happen to trigger that? Do you feel impulsive? Do you 'need' to ctb now? Do you feel you have a rough month ahead (or something)? I'm sure you're familiar with those episodes , but still .. It's really helpful. There are many bipolars here
And again I'm sorry for misunderstanding your situation . I guess we're all a bit edgy here . That's the way it is for us :)

The Stan guide is pretty much as good as it gets. Stan performed exhaustive research and the guide was designed to replace the SN megathread which was an absolute mess. He used the SN method to CTB and the Frank Sinatra thread that floats on the main page is his goodbye thread.

I've started day 1 of the meto regimen. Which I guess means tomorrow night is my night. I found a 40mg beta blocker which is reassuring. I'm scared but I don't see any other way. I'm so, so unhappy. Every waking moment is painful. I cry all day. MH services have let me down again and again. A psych was supposed to visit me this morning but they can't now (usual story) so I told them to stop bothering. They called me back and offered to send one tomorrow morning. Unless they're prepared to send me for urgent ECT I can't see my plan changing. I've been depressed for so long now, then partner had some problems and we broke up unexpectedly, over text. He didn't even want to see me face to face to talk about it, turned completely cold on me. I don't want to burden my friends and I have nothing much to say anyway. I feel awful.

I've fucked it up by taking promethazine which majorly interacts with meto. I should have known as I had terrible effects from taking olanzapine and meto at the same time (promethazine is a mild antipsychotic). I'll start again tomorrow.
