As for the rope material, it's not bad. If it's a bit slippery, you might want to use more secure knots to keep them from slipping.
The most important thing about your rope is that it can support your weight.
If the rope has some elasticity, you'll need to take that into account when choosing your anchor point, as applying your weight it may stretch a bit, and you might end up below the height you need/want.

A knot that tightens itself when weight is applied would be ideal. For example this one:
